Nokia, both Old & New, NEVER made "flagship-killer" device, that's hard facts.
nor will they try to make it like Xiaomi with their 'poco' sub-brand, because IT will kill their overpriced 'mid-range' line INSTANTLY.
The most Nokia could do is like Nokia x5 case; use High-end Helio SoC, 'capped' both its CPU and GPU to keep people away from buying 'bang-for-buck' devices, and pair it with the CHEAPEST possible parts available in China with all the cutting corners possible , so that they will keep the HUGE margin albeit making "bang-for-buck" device.

The price is steep. But on the other hand: Why should you guys agree on the prices from Google or Apple?
This one is going to get the SD845, which is still pretty fine. But the main selling point will be the camera. So why aren't they allowed to sell it for the same price as the other top manufacturers? If this camera setup is a success, this what innovation REALLY looks like. Putting nice chips (CPU, GPU, RAM) together is easy, but a Penta-camera - that hopefully will be revolutionary - would be hard to beat and justify the high price.

Waiting for Nokia 9 Sirocco in august. Not because faster SoC, but for ultrasonic fingerprint and maybe return of 3.5mm jack. Until that, I will keep my S9+ (S10+ is ugly with hole in screen).

$885 for a phone with assumingly some space for a headphone jack on top but they couldn't? I hope the SD855 version have that added. I have longed to get a Nokia 8 replacement but not like this. I hope they make a Nokia 8.2 with SD 855 for only $550.

This is NOKIA we are talking about, a GREEDY, Zombie company who asked for US$300 for PoS device like Nokia 6, which was worth one third its asking price!
Looking that Samsung already priced their Note series around US$1000, Nokia won't hesitate to ask for the same price, if not MORE!
Just look at ALL (Reborn) Nokia devices ever introduced till now...
