Furiounx, 14 Jan 2019Well thank goodness. SD855 should've been standard though...Yeah Iam very glad that the SD 855 is on the work. With the 855 chipset, you will definitely get better image processing, nice image quality for day and night, longer duration of 4k video and improve battery life. Good job Nokia, but you are still not there yet... "RETURN THE HEADPHONE JACK AND STEREO SPEAKERS PLEASE"!!!!

Kiyasuriin, 14 Jan 2019it's newer. first off. and capable of using 5G. the snapdra... moreSo what that it has 5G ? Like there are lots of places to use it, that it needs to be important feature.

But still i agree that it should have 855 to justify it's coming price.

I bought my self a redmi note 5 ai some last year spring with SD636. I would of bought Nokia if they would of had one with under 200 euro price. If i get 2 from Xiaomi for the price of one Nokia, i will chose Xiaomi. Btw this gsmarena site dont evend do news about that, that redmi note 5 is on testing for Android 9 Pie. If for a lot of people main argument is stock android for updates, then i have got close to every month security patch update and soon will get Pie too, then why should i go with stock android with twice the price.

For a lot of people cpu still matter and if new is 855 then everyone want that from a new upcoming phone. Choices you have for SD845 CPU phone you have prices from the range of 300-1100 euro. Pick what ever brand you like as most of there design is same too. You can have even sliders to be different.

This camera phone is more for the enthusiast people who do test and make a lot of pictures and videos.

While they cant make a chip that is more camera featured then for gaming. Where these flagship phones have the most point for the powerhouse chip.

Besides, why use an old gen CPU for such setup? I mean, it is obviously still a very capable chipset, but not that much to handle 5 cameras on a smartphone. Heck, the 845 can't even shoot a consistently smooth 4K 60fps video for more than 5 minutes either, so this begs the question on how the 5 cameras will work on this hardware.

By success, I don't mean throwing all those camera lenses together, but nothing less than a working setup with lots of improvements that no other phones offered before.
And I assume that Nokia won't just throw a multiple cam setup just to brag around with, like Samsung did with its mediocre A9.

But instead of that, people here are whining about the CPU-specs without taking in regard, that this MIGHT be a superb camera-phone.

(And no, I usually don't carry a DSLR or whatever with me. Most peple don't, that's why it makes sense to keep improving camera performance for these phones.)

                              FinnishInquisition, 14 Jan 2019What is the 855 capable of that the 845 isn't? Is it that i... more845 can't support 4K HDR 60fps video recording, 855 can.
855 is built on 7nm process, so it can save more power than the 845 when using the lower cluster cores.
855 can probably support 4K HDR 18:9 displays or even 21:9 QHD (if the XZ4 comes out with this), 845 maxes out at 4K HDR 16:9 (main reason the XZ2 Premium didn't have 18:9).

FinnishInquisition, 14 Jan 2019What is the 855 capable of that the 845 isn't? Is it that i... moreI agree that the 845 still is a very capabele chip, but the SD855 has a couple of major things over it.

Mainly 5G connectivity and an improved 7nm platform that makes for improved performance AND improved efficiency. I do believe the 855 has a dedicated AI chip as well if I'm not mistaken, which could help a lot with computational photography.

But still, this will be a great phone if the camera lives up to expectations. The big battery and wireless charging capabilities sound promising as well. And well, it doesn't seem to have a notch. In my personal opinion, you shouldn't get it at release though. If the SD855 variant is a real thing, just wait a couple of months and either get that one or het the SD845 version at a lot cheaper pricepoint by then.

Well thank goodness. SD855 should've been standard though...
