Opinion: Bezel-less is not the way forward

20 January 2019
How do you imagine the phones in three years? Foldable? Bezel-less? With invisible cameras? Powered by new long-lasting batteries? Maybe. But bezel-less - that can't be the way forward.

You know my BlackBerry PRIV has this curved edge too, though less pronounced than Samsung S7 edge/S8. Almost 2-3 times per day I get annoyed with the unintentional touch issue.

Curved edges are definitely not worth it. But bezel-less should not be a problem.

Or samsung (if only they freaking throw away those edges). Bezel with function, be it speakers or all kind of sensors. That's the ideal smartphone for me.

Yep. Not practical in almost every aspect. Uncomfortable to hold, less space for hardware and more compromises (Smaller batteries, lower quality speakers and whatnot), less sturdy. This is not a fashion accessory. It's a tech device or supposed to be, at least. And it's 2019, smartphones have been around for a long time, nobody cares what smartphone you have or how it looks.
