OLED has too many disadvantages, and that's not only burn in, it is also color shift at an angle, or low brightness, or worse color gamut than Quantum Dot, and so on.

Carol, 17 Jan 2019Windows phone is dead because o microsoft and their funny w... moreJust a small correction and FYI.

Samsung LG etc all had an Android phone and a similar spec Windows 7.5 phone
Windows 7.5 was single core and NO memory expansion

Microsoft to an age and a day to release Windows 8 phones capable of multi core and essentially memory expansion

By that time only Nokia (soon to be renamed Microsoft Lumia)
Third party apps follow phones i.e. Android

Windows phone 8 is a viable and stable version of Windows

Windows phone 10 the next major release is to all sense and purpose malware

All Windows 8 device were to receive the just one the initial Windows 10 release which was to launch on the flagship Lumia 950 (specs similar to the Google Pixel but with memory expansion)

Windows 10 simply produced multiple faults on every device it was tested on even the Lumia 950

Instead of pulling it Microsoft release Windows
Microsoft has had to abandon its cell phone ambitions due to Windows 10 not being fixable despite over 2 years trying

If Windows phone 10 were fixable all that Microsoft need do is release say Windows phone 12 on all Windows phone 10 devices the problem being is it has Windows phone 10 on it

The way forward then would have been release the 950 running Windows 8 and incrementally develop that.
Third party app developer have long ago abandoned WP8, Microsoft walking away from the Window 10

Windows advantage over Android was it's security from Viruses there would be no need for monthly updates and it's fit into Micro universe
Microsoft has shown that the greatest threat us from within

The should give us back internal sound recording

Actually LCD has advanced so much it can be called rright up there with amoled, if not, better. LCD's might not save that much energy through deep blacks, as amoled, but it saves. I embrace LCD because a lot of reasons, but the most up there is: no burn-in. Finaly.

So what you are saying is that after I got really happy to have android pie on my s8 as a beta that android q is already on the works. Thanks sammy

This is what I've been waiting for for over 5+ years. Finally!
Windows *cough*cough* catch up properly! (Yes, it works, but having 40% of the UI in darkmode while the rest is white shouldn't be called dark mode)

IOS will also have this then. Mac has it implemented perfectly so far, so high hopes for Apple users out there. (Android user here)

So, Android is trying to catch Windows Phone, feature wise. Just 4 years later but innovation is here, voila.

Not bad. Hopefully, iOS 13 brings some of this stuff too

Whilst there will be people who like the dark mode and its easier on the eyes, I don't really see the point of it as it won't save energy on a LCD, that will only happen on a AMOLED screen and those aren't really widely adopted outside of Samsung and now Apple and even Samsung is reverting back to LCD on some models now.

Doesn't the point of AOD kinda get lost if it can display a wallpaper?
