256GB NM not available in my country. Also, it will be pretty expensive when it will appear, I'm sure. This is offensive to clients. They should have made them cheap and available if they want to change the standard, you can't change the standards with no availability and greed.

I just hope the SD Association would make NM a standard and rename it as NanoSD card. Let us not let individual companies like Huawei and Sony make their own expensive storage card where we have MicroSD readily available.

The main convenience for using them is data transfer, not storage. They are more convenient and practial for big media transfer between devices than having to use laptop or cloud storage.

This entire situation is a cash grab and will fail pretty miserably. Same thing happened with Sony wanting to exclusively license and use Memory Stick Pro Duo cards in their portable game consoles. The memory was expensive, not particularly fast, used in almost nothing else and not widely available.

It's not about the speed, it's the form factor. I'm glad NM cards are slowly starting to be one of the standards because it's smaller than a MicroSD and the form factor is exactly like SIM cards.

Damn expensive $150 for 256GB! Not useful beyond select few Huawei mobiles. Pointless. Bring Mate 20 Pro buyer I don't like this situation. Right now this is not available in my region

Nobody cares about the space savings. Apple, Google, OnePlus are going after FLAGSHIP performance. This kind of performance can only be obtained through UFS 2.1 and greated (this year UFS 3.0 debuts).

This is a cheap and shameless way to use an existing standard to make a contrived milking for the privilege. The hilarious part is all they need to do is rearrange pins and change the shape of the whole card and voila! new lock-in invented just like that and the sheep will pay anyway because "storage expansion slot" only way to teach these conniving corporates a lesson is by voting with your wallets.

Bye bye Huawei phones with your proprietary memory card!

really don't see the point of having this new standard of memory cards.

Micro SD has proven to be more than capable and should be treated like USB and standardised throughout all mobile devices
