Maybe increasing the wireless charge rate is good, hopefully still safe for the suckers that buy this ridiculous concept!
IP ratings have been around for some time. Side panel buttons (HTC squeeze or whatever it's called) has been around 2 years I think.
Why release this with last years SoC instead of waiting 1 month for the 855?
And I couldn't care less what Apple does as that's a bull$hit brand to me but even if Samsung introduced this I wouldn't buy into it.

And people thought, including myself, that only Apple can innovate. But now we have another company, apart from Apple. Well done Meizu!

Gusta, 23 Jan 2019At least their market share keeps rising although it's slow... more"Dont forget they are not trying to copy others design phone especially the camera position and notch trend."

What do you call Meizu X8 then ? It has a notch so they are still fallowing the trend of others too. It's still only one phone in there line up but still they have it. So you cant say things like that. And camera position have moved from one corner to middle to other corner and basically have had it's place all over the back side of the phone. Nokia have always had on most of there phones same place like Meizu have it too so yet again you cant talk about things like position of a camera and then the notch trends

So how do you turn it on with a button.. also if it’s captive button doesn’t it require power to respond.. so much for when you phone freezes on android..

AnonD-558092, 23 Jan 2019Power button for recovery? Capacitive means the screen must... moreThey are capacitive buttons, most likely just drawing power all the time from separate circuit, not alien technology that needs the screen turned on. If you needed screen to be on on to use capacitive buttons, you couldn't even turn on the phone if it worked like you think.
Also you can use ethernet on computer and transfer files from phone using wi-fi.
It's called "you don't connect the two devices directly, just like if you use wi-fi on a computer".
Just connect both to a local network and copy or use something like google drive if you don't have a local network.
                        That isn't rocket science either.

Interesting device which implements tons of features no one needs. Hypothetically I can live with with most of them, but this eSIM shit returns me 25 years ago when the carriers were refusing to register on their NMT networks, phones obtained from third parties.

There ARE buttons - capacitive ones, it's not rocket science to understand they work the same as physical ones.
As for wireless data transfer - you can easily achieve USB2 speeds with wi-fi, 802.11ac could even achieve half of USB3 speeds theoretically, and not that many phones use USB 3.0 anyway.

This is a very good concept. But as of this particular era of smartphone technology, zero practicality. I guess that's what the name arguably meant.

I see the glass half full if we had more no port phones then advancements in wireless technology would speed up quicker because as a people we work harder with no safety nets, if you have your last dollar you'd be surprised how you would stretch it, I feel this way about ports (the safety net)

As for people talking about copying let china copy this behaviour will bring progress and development of patents meanwhile those that praise pride and individual achievement gets nowhere no wonder the west is losing in development of making real products
