Opinion: All-display is the future and we have to embrace it

My thought on bezeless with a little of practice:
I got EMUI9 on mate 10 pro 2 weekes ago, with that came the navigation gesture that allow to not have the navigation bar on the Bottom of the screen. Well, I like it at first, more screen used for content!
Until I realize I can't really write long text with the keyboard 8mm lower on the screen. My thumbs have to do a bit of stretching to reach lower part of the phone (I have big hand) since I can't position my hands any lower on the phone. It's okay if it's just a few time/min with the nav bar, but typing is another story. And it still have a 7mm chin.
I can't imagine the pain with "no" chin at all.

We don't have to embrace anything we don't want to. Functionality is what I am concerned about losing in the thirst for limited bezels and sealed devices. Repairability is another serious concern with these new all screen devices. I'm not embracing something that is going to be more expensive, difficult to repair and won't last long. The bezel-less future is overrated

Finally, an article from GSMarena I can agree with! After all, the birth of the iPhone is about a larger screen with increasing the exterior which is the reason they went with touchscreens unlike the smartphones coming from Nokia or Sony back in the day.
I have little use for selfie cameras and front ear speaker. They could put earpiece on the back of the phone if courageous enough.
I do share the annoyance with curved front displays. I never warmed to the curved sides of my S8+.
I hope they reduce the taller/longer aspect ratios though. 18.5:9 is too much in my opinion. 17:9 like the one from the Original Mi Mix looks perfect.

whatever, I hate the notch, even it interrupts the full display idea and contents also. OEMs have to find a way to ditch the notch

In my opionion, the problem of display size and phone size is solved by the design of taller display phones. All solutions after that (i.e notch, dual screen, etc) is just a cosmetic solution. Yes, it makes phones beautiful; BUT it does not make phones' technology beyond the old taller phones. So bezel or bezel-less is nothing important as long as the technology and the battery is the same.

We all are the beneficiary of the "Lesser bezel, fuller screen" vision pioneered by Xiaomi's Mi Mix (2016). This vision has been tentatively realized via Oppo and Vivo in 2018. We can now hold in our hands an Oppo Finder X, the most beautiful smartphone ever designed, style-wise.

Any notch or water drop have invent a black bar as an option to the user that's stupid enough by increasing a little extra screen ratio but stay have the option to cover and block them, is it practical to invent such thing!? Punch hole even worse the blocks still there but can call it the latest invention, get little more screen and get some troublesome and compromise something is a great invention!? You must be fooled by marketing.

always the same old crap spout whenever something new, good or bad, showed up. 'afraid' of the unknown lol.
you know that being new doesn't automatically means something is 100% better or good right? the market will decide whether this new thing is the future or not, not some random opinion piece with vested interests

"But you'll be missing on all the glorious improvements of technology."
lol, it's obviously a stupid gimmick to appease sheeple like you. the only thing 'improve' from All display less bezell phone design is the phone become more uncomfortable from longer screen, and more accidental touch. If the future means more uncomfortable for you, then i am sure you will have enjoyment when phone manufacturer remove display from phone :P

Going bezelless is missing the wood for the trees. The idea of bezelless was to minimise device footprint, maximise device screen area. But phones are becoming as larger and more unwieldy than ever. And that has to stop. Bezels or not. Ultimately, it's still the screen size that determines one hand usability. A 4.7 inch iPhone 8 is way more usable one handed than a 5.8 X. Because your fingers operate/stretch only across a 4.7 inch area.
Besides, bezels leave room for grip, durability and useful features like hardware navigation buttons. Which otherwise eat up 2 to 3 lines of screen space. I know it's ancient, but I prefer a small phone with bezels for grip and nav buttons for a full screen experience, rather than a large, unwieldy, gripless phone with navigation buttons constantly eating space. My dream phone would be a Nexus 5 or a first gen Moto G or Moto X with modern internals and physical nav buttons on the bottom bezels.

XZP LUL, 28 Jan 2019doesn't that defeat the purpose of full screen when u need ... moreWell without a case you hold onto the sides, not the front. With a case it's the same but with more room on the sides to hold onto. And yes, there will always be sacrifices made for trends unfortunately.

This article screams ridiculousness. Not all of us want nothing but screen considering how many features have been removed from every company not named Samsung and LG because of it. No more headphone jacks (which kills the latency and sound quality), no more stereo speakers (which made watching movies so pleasing outside of the headphones), no more expandable memory (which is dumb because Dual SIM is still a thing), tinier batteries, no more IR blaster, and no more FM Radio. It's all pure stupidity. If bezel-less is the future, why are we losing more features than gaining them?

Just leave the USB-C jacks alone. Wireless charging and Bluetooth headphones are not the way...
And connecting to the cloud to transfer files from and to a PC is too troublesome...
P.S.: At least, Vivo provides a way to charge the phone by wires.

2) If you want decent sp... moredoesn't that defeat the purpose of full screen when u need a casing to cover the edge so that you dont ghost touch it ? And the covered screen cant be used which is less than useless then.
Front facing stereo speakers, led notification and proximity sensor and so on i still prefer it on the front
