Mate 20 Pro's screens are outsourced either from LG or BOE. I don't think Samsung would give their best panels (except Apple) to other companies cuz then there'd be less of a reason to get Samsung flagships. It's a Samsung exclusive feature I'd say. Even Google went with LG for the Pixel 2 XL and 3 XL, which some people would perceive as cutting corners but I guess there's no other choice. OnePlus, Xiaomi, Oppo and others do use Samsung's sAMOLED panels on their flagships but it's only FHD not QHD.

Symbian had become long in the tooth, the UI was outdated and the OS had very little software development incetive, most developers had already made the choice to support iOS and Android.

Nokia did a great job building Maemo Os which became MeeGo, but by that time it was too late. Honestly, had there been better support for MeeGo, I would not be using Android today.

      According to digitimes.com (1-24-2019):

"BOE will manage to lower the unit production cost of its 6.39-inch QHD+ AMOLED panels to US$80 in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to US$60 seen at Samsung Display. The production costs of the two companies will approach to even in the first quarter of 2019, with prospects of seeing BOE's production cost to become lower than that at Samsung Display by the end of 2019."

Even so the sd845 was still able to outperform the 980 in gpu benchmarks and the 980 was only marginally better than the sd845 on sustained loads

In terms of AI phones like the pixel 3 have ai optimization that is many times better than Huawei and this can be seen in the horrible ram management of the mate 20 pro which has more ram than other phones like the iphone xs

In sustained benchmarks it was also possible to see phones like the note 9 and the oneplus6t handle more processes and threads than a phone that you claim is way more powerful than the sd845 phones out there

Get your facts right before making any false claims

If you want to really compare wait until the 855 comes out on the same 7nm platform, both running ARM76.

Good, competition for Samsung will make amoled even better. Samsung already produced almost flawless and best amoled screens in a world, it will not let them to sleep on laurels and will keep making them better.

I will not be surprised if BOE surpass Samsung as a major supplier of AMOLED panels in the coming years. And I will not be surprised if BOE starts to ship next generation post-OLED displays (miniLED, MicroLED) ahead of Samsung.

By the way, Kirin980 is the best CPU for all android smartphones released in 2018. Kirin980 is way ahead of SD845 in tests conducted by many sites. Google the internet for such results. In terms of AI benchmarks, Kirin980 is 1000% better than SD845, its like 2200+ vs 200+, not even remotely close. On the other hand, Samsung has zero expertise in AI co-processor. The first such co-processor used by Samsung in its Exynos in 2017 was licensed from a Chinese AI chip company. The chip was a 2nd tier design because Samsung could not reach the agreement on pricing with that Chinese AI company for a better design.

It would be completely reasonable if Huawei wants to charge more for its all-around superior Kirin980 cpu.

Finally, some competition in the OLED phone display market. Samsung's best QHD sAMOLED panels are usually reserved for their own flagships so it's nice to see phones like Huawei Mate 20 Pro getting QHD OLED. Hopefully more phones will use BOE OLED displays.

I wouldnt spend a $800 & beyond flagship device as i change phone every 2 years. The $650 vanilla Mate 20 is a much more bargain for the price, therefore i settle for it. Plus dont want to take the risk about the green tint issue.

Nevertheless, Huawei Mate & P series flagship was not using a cheap components, u can see what specs its offer for the price, & better than the rest overpriced flagship. When it comes back to BOE OLED screen, it still got good viewing experience, though Samsung OLED are superior.

Advertising is very important. At first Samsung do it aggressively and later China copy the same strategy. You can't deny it, if they don't pay more attention on bragging something, they are no beautiful bubble as well.
