Apple's "shot on iPhone" film likely isn't

26 January 2019
You can't produce that sort of footage with an iPhone XS and off-the-shelf accessories.

[deleted post]D biggest? Learn to write first hater. Besides they are doing what others have been doing all along. Everyone of them should be blamed.

Well apple did say that they used an iPhone and had addition hardware which would have to be clip on attachments for the iPhone.
Software would be expected for editing and so forth so they did a sneaky but it's not as bad as other companies claiming that the photos are Frome the camera of a phone then you see the meta data and find out it was from an slr

Of course the depth of field isn't caused by software. And the soft corners are very obvious. Furthermore even the sharp areas are not as sharp as they could be (because the image quality of a lens suffers when you use it with a DOF adapter). You are right gsmarena.

"The idea here is very similar to those popular phone lens kits that you clip onto your phone camera." The technique is completely different. Clip on lenses lead to terrible image quality, even the more expensive ones.

[deleted post]Unfortunately there are other crooks than aPple too, and they should ALL be exposed when they get caught trying to cheat the consumers.

Checking video with iPad screen and the bokeh looks like software stuff, not very realistic and edges of objects are very pixelated, which means it's not real bokeh coming from DSLR.

Woa, maybe check the credits before you get too skeptical:

"Digital Image Technician", "Post Production Company", "Compositor", "Digital Colorist","VFX Compositor", "Rotoscoping Artist".

No no, in previous article about these, people are quick to point out that this video is fishy in term of authenticity. But the iSheep just defend Apple by none other that "you android fan boy are jealous blah blah blah".
So this article just proves that it's not android fanboy bashing on apple, it about pointing out fake marketing, just remember Huawei comercial, it also got a good amount of backlash

Thanks. Any company doing these crooked stunts should really get the beating.
The first that got caught doing it was the old Nokia/MS, and unfortunately there are more crooks out there than Mr Elop's people.

What about making a blame-page or crooks-page with the links to each incident, and keep it updated when ever new crooks try this stunt - or similar?

Expected from Apple. It is his doctrine, to spread false truths, to deceive and that his indoctrinated sheeps spread his creed and lies all over the world.

When the sales of XS went down, Apple wanted to come up with a "convincing" film to make people buy XS. This might work for blind people who don't question but not for me. Anyway, thanks Apple for giving me another reason not to purchase your products!

not at all surprising, but nice analysis to back it up. we should never assume that a corporation is being "honest". because they don't need to be, they just have to be legally unassailable

Cant agree more. Even though iphones(currently) have the best video quality its just unreal in that this video was only shot by an iphone. They definitely did something shady.

Although I must say that bokeh on videos seem really interesting. Cant wait to see it on newer gen devices!
