Is anyone else wondering about the odd placement of the power button/fingerprint reader? Why does Samsung always insist on the very high and opposing placement of the volume rocker and power button? Because we like to hit both buttons at the same time once we adjust our grip to reach up there?
Please, Samsung. This is a very basic ergonomic issue. Most other manufacturers place the volume and power on the same side, with the power under the volume rocker, near the middle of the device. It just works there. We don't all have spindly spider leg fingers.

Emily, 02 Feb 2019Apple copied Sharp and Essential idea of notch. This one ha... morewhether or not Apple copied or whoever copied (essential copying sharp), references were taken, and improvements to move towards bezel-less is how the notches evolved from a "bar" (apple) to a "infinity-O" (samsung) or a teardrop (huawei, oppo etc). Probably the original designs came from designers of screen protectors.
Your remarks are just simply anti-apple. giving others labels (apple sheeps) just prove that you have no substantial basis on your claim.

And the big question is why it was not used more? Perhaps it was extremely expensive to make back then? Or some patents blocking wide use? I have only seen this, and a slightly later Omega (in an boring/ugly case) with what looks like the same LCD and cal. 1665.

The only other lcd's I have seen have been rectangular fields in an ugly and boring grey.
Even the fancy larger Barcelona Olympic model (in the same Polaris series) only have two tiny grey windows.

Kiyasuriin, 02 Feb 2019I am fine without water resistance. A pop up camera would b... moreThere are 2 problems.
1. Waterproofing is necessary. You might not think it happens daily, but when it does, don't you want your phone to survive. My S8 survive 28hrs in the American river in Sacramento before a treasure diver found it the next day at 4PM. If it wasn't for that then I wouldn't care about IP Rating. Better safe than sorry. The one day you spilled thick ass ketchup on your phone. You can rinse it off nicely without worrying about the water going under the screen which causes slow permanent damage. I know have 2 friends with broken 6T. 1 thought it's secretly waterproof. And 1 fell into a rain puddle so softly that he didn't realize it was there until 2 mins later when he came back for it. IP rating is a standard if you ever want to make sure you have a phone that is reliable. That's like saying you can get free kick boxing training and denied it anyways. Crazy.
2. Whether is magnetic sliders, motorized sliders or popups. Moving parts means more likely to fail even if the Vivo is rated for about 1000 use. Lets see what happens when you're hiking or some where high and your popup camera is out because you're about to capture a breath taking relaxing scene. Then it drops and lands on your camera block. Guarantee it cant with stand such drop, but the phone should still work. Haha. And imagine finding a great case. Lmao.
A hole on the screen isn't that bad, your eyes shouldn't gravitate to it too much, and when rotate to landscape, it will be on bottom right which is hidden by your thumb.
