            So you had a reflective layer at the bottom for use in bright light and a transmitting transparent layer (OLED?) on top, to use in poor light.

            BTW did you know that LCD-displays with holes in them was used almost 30 years ago (starting somewhere after 1987, at the latest 1991) by Omega (and perhaps others) in multifunction watches with classic hands?
            I always thought it were two or more parts, but it was a real hole.

                What it bothers me about it is that it’s completely unnecessary. Get rid of the stupid hole and put symetrical bezels on top and bottom, problem solved.

                Ohhhh but then it’s not bezel-less. Guess what, it’s not anyway.

                  Think of looking at a double pane window at an angle with a candle. Plus the cost would be more than most would be willing to pay I think.

                    Not a fan of the flat screen as the sides look funny (not only on this phone but all flat screens). The pearl white with a hint of red / blue hues is pretty cool.

                      I think this looks nicer than the S10+.

                        Okay, conspiracy theory time.
                        What if they stacked OLED panels? The panel with a hole on the bottom, and a thin, slightly transparent one on the top. It could work similar to an LCD and backlight. The back OLED, which is the main one with the camera hole, powers the top one and that top one covers the hole when the phone is in use. When you wanna use the front camera, the thin transparent one on the front turns off. That would be sick!

The Hole punch design is nothing like the Notch, And if anything apple copied Samsung. The S8 was the best phone of 2017 and always will be. Apple tried to copy it so hard, but ended up making the design so ugly no one wanted it.

                                  So they are doing like all the rest, making their phablets too big, and make a new more mediocre device the size of the predecessor.

                                  They now got a S10- the size of the S9 and a S10 and S10+ to replace the S9+
