Two models which helped samsung move towards the top, namely, galaxy s and wave(bada), have been left out in the cold! Interesting! What next? No support to gs2 once gs3 is out?

[deleted post]I think white ones should come with the newer update.. but try to update it. Mine used to heat up very hot but not after the update. It does get warm doing certain things but mine never gets "hot".

I have Galaxy Y and expected this. I think Touchwiz makes my phone looks like a toy, so I don't mind if it will get official Ice Cream Sandwich ROM with Touchwiz or not. I'll take the stock one instead.

gio, 20 Dec 2011why isnt galaxy gio is in the list its less than one year o... moreIsnt Gio still in 2.2? All mobile companies are like that. Theyll only update the beefest mobile and work its way down. Thats why, S2, Note, GR starts first. My guess is that before it even hits the GIO, you got to wait for the Galaxy W or maybe even the Ace to update first. But then again, Galaxy S, Galaxy S plus and Galaxy S i9003 all are going at 1ghz and above cpu. And if those are not updating, I dont see why they would bother updating the Gio at 800mhz. My bad if I made you feel bad, but seriously you get for what you pay. . . I was in the same situation before. . .

Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 should get ICS there is no promblem with hardware and also the phone is not even 2 years , the phone is 1 year and 4 months not even half . even if Samsung will not do this we have CyannogenMod witch already almost done their job . so ICS in GT-I9000 will soon :)

gio, 20 Dec 2011why isnt galaxy gio is in the list its less than one year o... moreBecause the hardware of your cellphone will not support it, tha;t why you should look for a custom ROM.
Maybe cyanogen wil work for you.

You'll all get ur ics upgrade nabs. Just wait for it, there was a reason why we paid 500 euros for the s2, so we should be the first serviced. Anyway, it did not say that the other phones wont get ICS, just that they're not a priority atm

thaad, 20 Dec 2011So, go for custom ROM. It's no need to wait for update sc... moreYou are missing the point here. If you buy a flagship product at premium price, you expect first class product support at least during it warranty period.

Galaxy S was being pushed in the markets until less than a year ago. You cannot simple expect people to mess around with custom ROMs, wasting their time and invalidating their warranties.

Again Nexus S has identical hardware and already has ICS.

Samsung is clearly do not care about customer experience, and should not be treated as a first class company.

I am no Apple fan, but if you look at 90% satisfaction rate of IPhone\IPad owners and compare that to about %50 at best Samsung product owners. It says it all tp see where the problem is.

Samsung has had its chances to repair its reputation for product and customer service. It is safe to say it blew it. No more samsung for me.

No one said that SGSI would not get the update, but it's not a priority being an older device.

Probably it will get the update (and I don't see a reason not to) in Q2 2012. If you're not satisfied with the wait, flash CM9 and you're done.
