14 February 2019
By vibrating the surface, the phone will utilize the display as a diaphragm.

AnonD-241270, 14 Feb 2019wait: your S8/S9 are on Pie?! i doubt that so...be quiet! My S8+ is on Oreo. Pie is in beta testing now.
My friend's S9+ is on Android One UI Pie official since 22 January.
But I totally dislike the new status bar icons. Other than that it seems ok.
I'm not anti LG, don't get me wrong.
By features I meant software, not hardware. As in OS features like Samsung has. In fact it has so many that I've disabled a lot of them.

if G8 will use such a feature, where did GSM Arena got the information that this device will have IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen? The article specifies OLED display?

LG gives a lots of useful features in it's flagships like the quad DAC, manual camera controls, HDR 10 video recording and playback, the boombox speaker, forgot that inspite of others sticking to telephoto or monochrome secondary sensors LG choose to offer the ultrawide camera. Also LGs UI is highly customizable just like Samsung's.

It was a brilliant idea to use display as a speaker. The only downside is that vibration will definitely have negative effect on the durability of the display, which was crucial to a phone. LG also needed more work on its camera, which was a little bit behind the competition.

Alien , 14 Feb 2019Sorry to say, but nobody buys LG anymore because they are t... moreyou are so wrong, men, i need to tell you: i have a G6, it came with Nougat, now have Oreo, since Oreo every month we have security patch updates (starting at v20a and a few days receiving v20h version update with january security patch) so, since Oreo came out, from "a" to "h" is 8 updates almost monthly, and its not over yet, until june we will receive this monthly updates and in July we will get Pie...

Pie for sure will be last major update for this device, but, since i always have LG phones (from G3, V10, G Flex2, G2 Mini) even those models receive 2 major system updates of number, they receive less security patch updates for sure but at least LG provide 2 major system updates with Android version up twice.

i think its the more you can ask for a phone, since people and everyone talking about 18 months update system (that thing is a nightmare for people who are obcessed with updates yes...) but even that way, LG G6 came in early 2017, we are in 2019 and in July this device will have 2 years and 3 months since they arrive, and even then will get the update.

Not as quick as other brands (i am off of sammycrap and other brands update timeframe and if they realese them or not, but i am sure, they dont do much better than LG).

That sayd, if LG make more devices with great desgin and more features, i will keep buying them since i know at least 2 major system version bump will happen for sure.

                      - and dont tell me: "yes, but i have a G6 or other kind of phones and never receive the update" - if you are waiting for OTA, you can forget, you need to put your hands working and search for it, they are a lot of websites updated with KDZ for LG phones and have tools to flash the phone and get them updated as well.

People are lazy, they wait and wait for updates than never came via OTA, and then blame brands to not do them...instead they do them, but dont be as quick as people want to make them run via OTA. well well...think that.

LG should launch only Android One devices, including flagships, just like Nokia does. More updates, better optimisations, clean Android interface should be the way to go. Nokia is back only for 2 years and it's already ahead of LG with more than a decade of smartphones. If I were LG I would pack all the good features I could, make every phone Android One and sell if for a OnePlus-ish price (for flagships) and for sure it would kill the competition, even OnePlus because LGs have more features (IP rating, wireless charging, quad DAC and so on), but they are too expensive and badly implemented.

Wow...so no more LCD for the G-Series huh? Doesn't make it too much different from the V50 then other than battery and extra camera.
