So there was $400 ish gap not $700 ish! All depends on shop you buy.
In my country there is one site known as heureka.sk you put anytzhing you want to search and it will search all the shops which have the item you looking for and shows you price of each of the shops. In other words S9 were on sale in Slovakia from as low as 900 bucks for base model with lowest ram and disk space up to almost 1700 euros.

my friend IP protection as I stated and i stand bnehind my words is for clumsy people and thus not needed or n eccesary is not essential feature. Maybe its good to have for certain people like firemen etc but for a basic user means pay extra bucks for something he maybe will never use. Please understand simple fact THAT NO IP POROTECTION WILL GIVE YOU A WARRANTY TO A WATER DAMAGE. Once your phone gets into the water your warranty is lost and you have to pay for any kind of repair even if it will be something else just because your pone had a water damage before.
"For a basic user Poco Camera is great enough" this is not a real statment!
some really want good camera cause they only shot pics with their phone!(also it is a welcome future for those of us who shot with pro cameras too)
Also add to mix the build quality! samy's build quality is far superior to poco!

And just about this Poco is now 260 bucks Nikon D3400 can be bought from as low as 250-300 bucks if you know where to look and shop thats 510 to 560 buks which is still half price of Samsung for having a lot better camera even if it means you have to carry 2 devices.
Sammy Quality to Poco is far superior but not worth the price theyy asking for.
S9 brand new costs 379 dollars to make which wwas 312 euros at that time but initial selling price was 3 times more.
Compared to poco which costed around 210 bucks to make and has been sold for 300 now 260. Xiaomi profit is and always will be much lower but it only means they care for they customers they arent greedy as Samsung.
And if Xiaomi phone can last 4-5 years easy and Samsung flagship can last same time means their even cheaper build and materials are equal in quality.
By the way most of the phones are made in china. Also most brands.

What Samsung have worth 740 more bucks??? Better screen stereo camera and IP Protection.
Dont get me wrong but nothing of theses is worth 740 more bucks maybe up to 200 not 740.
For example LCD is good enough amoled over time leaves burns maps on a screen which cannot be fixed other way just complete replace screen.
IP68 is good to have but if you arent complete clunmsy something like that is completely useless to pay extra bucks for.
For a basic user Poco Camera is great enough. Even a professional photografer rather buy proffesional camera than best camera phone on the market.
And for a basic user one repro is good enough. Most people anyway user earphones and thing such as stereo has no sense when you plug earphones to the jack.
Now please try again and tell me what is bad on a Pocophone for 260 compared to a flagship for 1000+ bucks. Or what is worth to buy a phone for 760 bucks more compared to pocophone or any other xiaomi or other chinese flagship for price around 400 bucks.

I'm ok with paying a premium price for a premium phone. If they want to save some money by purchasing cheaper phones than go ahead.

Should be easy win for Samsung. I expect best foldable experience from them. S10 not so to much exciting to be honest, knowing price would be ridiculous, and you have to have holes in screensavers for UD to work, plus that awful double selfie hole for s10+ sounds ridiculous. In this case Xiaomi Mi9 coukd be better option, considering Mi8 was complete flop, they will try to make it as best as possible, might be better option than overpriced S10 family.

For all those dissing on Sony. Sony can produce phones better.than Chinese brands and they have it's just.tuey have tiny weird aspect screens no one wants. They are their own worst enemy. Any time they make a large screen phone it.always has a crap processor and poor quality phone. Sony just won't make a larger screen quality phone like the Chinese brands

How this "kinetic" thingy makes a notch such a useful implementation of all lifetime that I never heard of nor I have used it in phone just because it has "KINETIC" in their notch.
Please enlighten us. I am eager to learn about this new tech/invention or whatever.

Why do Sony and HTC price their phones absurdly?
Why are their mid-range phones downright useless?
Why do they not sell phones in all markets?
Why are they the only ones experiencing huge decline in sales?( I could count lg in it too, but they have grown a brain these days and I guess they might get better this year)

Most of it just gives new processor.. and follows new display trend. Firstly, Foldable phones and Nokia 9 are somewhat exciting. Next comes s10, xz4 and other Chinese band phones cos they will just have new processor.
