Most ap... morethats quite valid. i guess, letterboxing would do? if that happens, i hope the "black area" will implement touchblock... or xperia ui can integrate a "virtual buttons" that acts like a bluetooth-attach game controller 🎮... there is always a solution but its up to sony. honestly, i look forward to watching clips on it during commute.

Crytek, 19 Feb 2019So many people bashing Sony's new phones before even seeing... moreNo. You clearly have a warped view if what actually happens here. All pages get at least a couple bad comments. The difference is on Sony pages anything that is not praising the device or company is devoured by the Sony page defenders. Even if it's factual or of real user experience. It's called hate or etc... and the defenders usually come in swarms.
Their devices are great and in the last couple of years they finally fixed some really bad long standing issues. But still have a few things holding them back. And they are simply over priced for lacking certain standards. Many are over priced lately unfortunately. But Google and Sony are two of the worst currently. And please don't say iPhone cause we all clearly know that. It's no excuse for the rest of them and is starting to effect people pretty negatively.
They are starting to wake up some... though they could've just streamlined their own design a little better for most devices...
The sad thing is that they have the potential to easily be more. To even be battling Samsung and apple even for tech and popularity. But the ones running it constantly keep them more just afloat rather than shining or succeeding. With their tech, money, and brand recognition it would be easy.

One has to learn from mistakes, not repeat them over and over every year.

I'm concerned about the dev support on the new display aspect ratio though. As long as Sony keeps the bezel just as small as the rest of the industry does and solves all the app compatibility issue relating to the aspect ratio, I'm all for it.

Most Developers won't supp... morei guess we can't say that for now, but i mostly agree because the aspect ratio is really only good for widescreen format videos. it would be terrible to use this for portrait orientation of apps or web browser. sony fans say that it is actually good because you can fit more content lengthwise on protrait orientation, but that really won't happen unless the apps support it. sony is facing odds here beause unless the other oems follow their lead on this new aspect ratio, developers won't support it. this is like a dejavu on the 4k screen on premiums- it is nice on paper and when viewing native videos and pictures, but no oems nor developers have supported it so far. again, i am for the comeback of sony mobile division, so i hope this new aspect ratio catches on.

The dimensions of the phone is slim enough and better for one hand operating because the width also is design for one hand handheld. One thing you are wrong you can not represent as 90% consumer. You should let consumer have chance to choose.

This phone's aspect ratio will be VERY problematic. Most apps won't bother updating in order to fit properly on the new XZ4/XA3 screens, so you'll see a large portion of the screen being letterboxed or cropped, specially when watching videos. Maybe you'll see big popular apps like Twitter, Facebook, etc getting an update to properly support the new Sony phones, but other niche apps will won't work as intended.
Buyers beware of this. Please acknowledge my warning.
That said, everything else about the phone I've read so far seems extremely solid.
