You can remap the Bixby button on the Samsung Galaxy S10 phones

21 February 2019
But you can't completely kick Bixby out. Still, you can assign an app of your choice to be launched by a single or double press of the button.

Who's talking of those simple 1 task commands kid? Watch the linked video above and get a clue. For example, I simply say to Bixby "I'm on a Journey" to do ALL of the following:

- Turn off Wi-Fi - Turn off NFC
- Turn on Bluetooth
- Set Location Mode to High Accuracy
- Turn on voice wake up and set wake up sensitivity to medium
- Set media volume to 90%
- Close all recent apps (to avoid any unnecessary background battery drain)
- Open Samsung Music and Play my "On the go Music Collection" playlist (now streaming over Bluetooth to my vehicle's speakers, or AUX to my work truck speakers)
- Open AutoGuard (turns my Note 8 into a DashCam and starts recording video in the background)
- Open Car Dashdroid (simply the best Car Mode app, automatically sets itself as the default launcher)
- Open Google Maps

Enter my destination in Google maps and place my Note 8 in my iOttie QI windshield mount, where it's fast charging wirelessly. On arrival, I simply say Hi Bixby "I have arrived" to do ALL of the following:

- Pause Samsung Music
- Turn on Wi-Fi
- Turn on NFC
- Turn off voice wake up (I really don't like anything listening 24/7 to me)
- Set locating method to battery saving
- Close AutoGuard (which stops the background recording)
- Go to the Home Screen (shows the Car DashDroid home screen)
- Go back (closes Car DashDroid and sets Nova Launcher back to my Default launcher)

That's a true assistant, but unfortunately, most reviewers just mislead gullible, mindless hating folks like you without actually exploring what it has to offer.

As for your BS on "transparency", I'll take the word of GDPR officials over some ignorant nobody on the internet, any day. Come back with that your transparency claim when Samsung gets under scrutiny for violating GDPR laws like apple and scroogle.

Dude Bixby is a trash, just simply google the reviews about Bixby. I have had S8+ and S9 and the only thing what I can say about Bixby is "IT IS A PIECE OF TRASH SPYWARE".
And kiddo, I DO NOT USE google assitant, Siri, Cortana, Alexa and all other stupud assistants. I'm not that lazy to touch my phone to set a clock or search an adress. Anyway i prefer Siri and Google over Bixby any day of the year. More reliable and a bit transparent. Transparency is missing in every single Samsung device. Just read Samsung's AGB 1 time in your life, then cme back here and reply kiddo.

Dr. Chillo, 24 Feb 2019No one on this planet needs Bixby button. No one needs Bixb... moreHow ironic and hilarious of you to be calling Bixby, which offers the user the choice of personalizing content, a useless spyware. Yet I bet you're proudly using the scroogle assistant or siri, both of which come from organizations that are under scrutiny for violating GDPR laws:

But don't let the facts get in the way, keep mindlessly hating on Bixby while you clearly have no fkn clue of what it has to offer:

A dedicated camera Button like Sony Xperia phones would be an awesome idea, I really don't get why not Lettin people choose what they want to do with that Button instead of annying people by a useless Bixby button.

Good, the reason is, Samsung want to steal more data to sell and abuse them, the easiest and best way is an extra assistant, that can record everything. So why not a dedicated button to activate the spyware, so they can easier eavsdrop!?

i dont want no extra button just for commands or to read news, i can touch the screen for that. but what i mean by a real cam button is that it has 2 steps like a real camera m8

                  - Press and hold to make use of Bixby's handy quick commands
                  - Press to toggle vibration mode on or off
                  - Double press to toggle flashlight

Double pressing the power button launches the Camera, and can use the volume buttons as shutter buttons, so, not missing anything.

This is great news! Samsung is listening to its customers. Also, I feel that it is unfair to ask Samsung to completely remove the 'Bixby' button or not have the Bixby button do any Bixby related stuff at all.
Come on, compared to the thousand forced things in competing OSes and manufacturers, this much customizability is great. They need some way to ensure the usage and improvement of their voice assistant. I am willing to let them have that.

The S10e got this button and option too ?

Oh, thank God this feature is available or else I will not buy a Samsung phone anymore.

Luxor, 22 Feb 2019It has autofocus. Lol. Push to focus. XDEvery single phone has autofocus on it's main camera. You clearly haven't used manual shutter buttons, so you don't know it's benefits.

I can say that the S-Pen is useless because i don't use it, but that won't make it any less useful for people who use it. Similarly, the manual shutter button is useful to people who know it's benefits.
