But some compacts are using 1/2.3 type sensors like HX99, HX90, WX800, WX500 and 5 more. Imagine what would happen to these cameras if Sony decided to use better and bigger sensors to their smartphone cameras.

The moment Light's L16 cameraphone underwhelmed should've been the day that startup should file Chapter 11 and quit. The tech is not good and promising.

I don't know how Light's still alive though.

and here people was talking about the nokia 9 ,here come sony lol

Multiple sensors means you could choose between pixel size, aperture, fov. It would make also less blurry shots, with multiple images captured in the same timeframe. Even morewith 12+ shots for hdr.
Though there will still be difference in sensor tech and processing.

periscopic camera that some chinese brands going to use will be better than multi cameras. even dslr only has 1 sensor and 1 light input.

Photos are very inconsistent and sometimes have weird artifacts.

I am not holding by breath for this.

I don't think SONY does not have the capability to improve their smartphone camera. They can but they just don't want to because it would kill their compact cameras business. Come to think of it, if they can produce excellent images with their compact/dslr cameras because they all have the expertise and experience in creating photography equipment, then there is no reason for them not to apply those to their smartphone cameras.

let others go crazy about it...
we'll just use one, or two or at most three...
