Pete Lau confirms OnePlus 7 won’t have wireless charging

26 February 2019
The company would rather improve it than give it to you in its current state.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019Reading comprehension, please. Apple *popularized* wireless... moreIt would've been fine if the line didn't include Samsung and LG which already had wireless charging on ALL their flagships since the S6 and G6. Both came out well before the ip8..
It's not comprehending but just plain old fact twisting. S6 was a whole year before the ip8. So yeah. "Comprehend" what you will..

Dash charging killing battery. I prefer overnight slow wireless charging. Fast charge is only in emergency.

        Anonym, 09 Mar 2019Clearly you haven't seen the Mi 9...No i dont.
My Moto X4 also supports QI charging but never used it.
Original charger can charge my phone from 0 to 100% in like 40-45 minutes.
Wireless one swould take like 2-3 hours.
Thus is not very important technology to rely on.
Such sa jack or a memory slot in new phones with base memory of 64GB and more.

Sogeking, 27 Feb 2019Agreed. In India, OnePlus 6T 256GB version costs INR46,000 ... moreI guess you care more about fancy but unnecessary features than you do about more important things like battery life because the V40 has a puny 3300 mAh battery and a pathetic 64h endurance rating lol and that number will continue to go down the more you use your phone. Also good luck getting frequent and consistent software and security updates, the V40 is still stuck on Oreo.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2019Come the Pocofone F2, bye bye OnePlus. The only thing keep... moreThe Plasticophone fanbase is worse, they act like they own a flagship device just because it has a SD845 in it and ignore the fact that they have to deal with one of the ugliest Android skins in existence, its tacky and cheap plastic body, that intrusive and grotesque iPhone wannabe notch and the inferior LCD screen. It also doesn't support OIS and NFC. Fanboys pretend like this doesn't affect the overall user experience just because of the cheap price tag but it does. No thanks, I'll gladly pay more for a better phone like the 6 or 6T without breaking the bank in the process.

I don't care about wireless charging because you can't use your phone while it's doing its thing and it's very slow compared to fast battery charging tech like Fast Charge, but since this phone will presumably cost more than the excellent 6T they should've included it anyway.

Well wireless charging is nice feature but costly and much slower to conventional cable charging thus is not essential and important to have.

It is what OnePlus is about. 95% top end phone for a fraction of the price. Leave out the bits that will be under used.

If it wasn't for their 6 monthly cycles then you'd be looking at even less features, but they've forced themselves into a corner having to add frivolous things.

So get rid of the glass back?

But Oneplus is still faster and way more optimized that LG V40.
