AnonD-558092, 27 Feb 2019You can get better. Also the problem is that the "Redmi"... moreThank you for reminding me of that. You're right. They shouldn't have made those BS claims without thoroughly testing it first. Xiaomi messed up, they deserve to get mocked for it.

It's a 200$ smartphone, we can't be complaining, redmi could've followed the same approach of the note 5, but it has been established a long time ago that most people care about looks and specs more than durability, that's why most companies shifted from metal to glass even without the "wireless charging excuse".

“the Redmi Note 7 does not need much to bend and break beyond fixing”
You do realize that this is an incredibly muscular man using all the force in both his arms to bend a phone, and he had to do it three times from both sides before it broke. Be fair here, the Redmi Note 7 did well enough for a $150 phone

Whackcar, 27 Feb 2019It's a cheap phone, so why would you expect a good build qu... moreWell we expect more first because it was strongly advertised as extremely durable - and it's not.
And also - the redmi note 6,5 and 4 (the one I had) were extremely tough and hard to break, mine survived several falls from waist to floor without any scratches.
Hopefully Xiaomi are watching, and will improve the structural durability in future production,

Also the problem is that the "Redmi" CEO kept spamming how "durable" the RN7 was with ridiculous tests. Which, if that were to happen in North America, would result in a lawsuit for false advertisements.

[deleted post]Well at least if you drop your 1k iPhone that pass this durability test, you will pay 300$+ for repairs, if you drop this "cheap copy", even if the screen breaks (that is less likely since plastic is more flexible and better protecting the glass) you will pay only 30$. This phone has all features best iPhone got, plus extras like week battery life, IR and audio jack.

It's a cheap phone, so why would you expect a good build quality out of it?
For $150, you can't really expect much, can you? Maybe with a Nokia you would get better build quality, but then you'd sacrifice specs. You can't get everything at this budget.

I won't do that if i have the RN7. BUT it's so frustrating, really, to see when it is bent. Omg! I am thinking it will also happen to RN7PR0 - in paper so good. Shall i upgrade to honor 8x then? Well if u are extra careful to your redmi then life will just be fine, right?

o1eroy, 27 Feb 2019Hahahahaha!! Crap!!crap is your overpriced sammycrappy or iJunk!!!!
this just prove Xiaomi are on the hurry and dont see the weak points of the device, since Zach show where the problem is, and its no big deal and easy to fix by Xiaomi.
Specs to price isnt worth the problem, just use a case and all be fine, but when things dont do well people just call it crap without thinkin twice.
