And again you suspect me of fanboyism. I said specifically that 2018 was a boring year for smartphones. Did I say anything about the S9 or Note9? Good job finding fanboys where there aren't any.
But I'll say something crucial. The S9/N9 at least did not remove essential stuff like an INEXPENSIVE HEADPHONE JACK. And they didn't add unwanted stuff like Benchmark Cheating, GPUTurbo sham, and USELESS NOTCHES

... moreIt is easy to underplay anything when you're a hater. The way you described Mate 20 Pro, i could do the same for the overhyped S10 series, but i won't do it, cause it would be undeserved criticism.
The Mate 20 Pro was a direct competitor to Note9, and it was successfully able to steer the spotlight towards itself. That itself is a big achievement.

Did u think u are more professional than the professional reviewer itself, Mr. Pro? Did u feel Samsung S9/Note 9/S10 invent anything new?
If 2018 is a boring smartphone era, looks like Mate 20 Pro is the less boring one.

The M20 Pro is neither new or fresh. Same wide notch. Same benchmark cheating. Same useless removal of the headphone jack. Same ugly notch. Same glass. Same underwhelming Kirin. Same locked bootloader.
2018 was boring for phones. 2019 isn't going to be better, everyone is capitalizing on 5G without 5G networks.

No doubt about it, the world needs something new & fresh in a flagship device, the Mate 20 pro delivers.
Even Mr. Mobile awarded it as best phone in 2018, and MKBHD agree that its camera has the best details when examine it on PC big monitor.

Best smartphone in 2018 for sure. Also it will be competitive in 2019 to,cause 855 sd just came out and it's build in the same 7 nm process.

They made the right decision. Mate 20 Pro was undoubtedly the best of 2018. It was a true all-rounder.
