A8batira, 02 Mar 2019This is the most annoying comment ever. Huawei have actual... moreHuawei is not one of the biggest R&D spenders they are one of the least. Do your research. Volkswagen is the biggest spender with 13.5 billion dollars followed by Samsung, intel, Microsoft at no.4 and google coming in at no.9. Samsung yes has spent years of hard work into the foldable screen tech and they pitched a great product unlike Huawei's who keeps saying that there foldable screen is better, its not. The reason is that Huawei is unable to bend the display inwards like the galaxy fold can and with Huawei's folding phone/tablet when folded out has a bump in the centre which protrudes out whereas Samsung's does not.

Lol, Huawei defeated in design, but still claims it is better :D Better if you considering destroying your device screen faster, idiot.

Alan, 03 Mar 2019You know the R&D for LED, CPU, and Mobile division all ... moreI do agree Samsung budget is totally fragmented between all theirs products divisions : Television, Electronics & Appliances : (e.g washing machine, microwave, tablet, smartwatch, projector, fridge) there are many articles that clearly state samsung stopping R&D funding for smartphone division, prioritizing and focusing on more lucrative departments.

          Therefore, you're also ridiculous.

A8batira, 02 Mar 2019This is the most annoying comment ever. Huawei have actual... morehi, does huawei manufacture their own display? no. their supplier is boe. well, samsung does make their own display; and they were one of the pioneers in the bendable screen technology. even if we consider boe they are years behind samsung when it comes to display. so, yes, samsung still had this design thought of for awhile compared to huawei.

A8batira, 02 Mar 2019This is the most annoying comment ever. Huawei have actual... moreYou know the R&D for LED, CPU, and Mobile division all have separate budgets? The companies for Samsung are not one heterogeneous integrated company. Think of it like multiple smaller divisions, completely separate but will work together when needed for a product. Your interpretations is wrong. also Huawei does all the same things CPU, Cell network etc.
I am no fan of huawei or Samsung, but your post is just ignorant.

Huawei have actually one of the highest spending in R&D more than Microsoft, Amazon, and near Google spending (14.2% against 14.9% Google)

They just dabble on the foldable phone recently, HAHAHA ; They don't have the same portfolio than Samsung in term of product. (they do smartphone, networks, antenna, processor)

All their research development goes into this. Where samsung stopped fund on their R&D for smartphone to focus on microchip, led technology etc.

Oh and i'm proud galaxy note 9 users. always used Samsung Note serie. I didn't took the galaxy N9 for the design, just for the stylus. would any other partnership been made i would ditch samsung right away.

their design is fuglyyy since the first samsung smartphone, same deal for their update!

samsung has been on this for several years while huawei only toyed with the idea recently. this tells me that samsung's product have been carefully thought of and researched. you probably will say that i am a samsung fan because of my name, well yes and no, since they have given no more choice of flat screens on the note series i have steered claear of them. i bought the note 8 in 2017 but sold it shortly after and now i am using the razer phone 1 and 2 as well as the pocophone f1. the reason i am defending samsung here is because of the sheer amount of time for r&d they have spent on foldable screens. it's different from their decision to switch to curved screens in their flagships because that seem to have happened like in just 2 years, while they have been demostrating the foldable/bendable screen tech since 2012 (i think). there are reasons they have decided on the design of the galaxy fold and it will be too numerous for me to list here. all i'm saying is samsung invested alot more time on the galaxy fold than huawei did on the mate x.
