I think fold out is a better idea since it adds depth to a foldable concept phone.but the technology has to be perfected so there are no creases or scratches on the screen

Fold in only wear the center portion, while fold out not only wear the hinge part, will also have fingers pressing the screen all the time which is not so good. Motorola clamshell is also good option but the square shape put inside pocket is quite weird.

There is only 2 options :
Huawei for "Flexibility" like on its camera and Samsung for "Durability" like on its outside body. I prefer durability by the way, the cracked screen make me headche when every look it.

Namelesss, 03 Mar 2019Can anyone explain to me please, They are able to put a 500... moreBecause flagship is :
-much features on its body
-must be looks elegant (more thinner)
-must be looks luxury (the glass back body make it hard to put bigger battery like 5000 mah so you will need atleast 7 inch bezeless display on glass body)
Yeah

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2019Problem is there is no foldable screen protector lolIt's not that hard to produce one. A new screenprotector just for foldables.

Can anyone explain to me please, They are able to put a 5000 mAh battery, a headphone jack, IR blaster and a Fm Radio in midrange phones. Can't they do the same for Flagships?

My common sense tells me to choose the 'fold in' option, so that's it.
My problem with the out-fold type, aside from the obvious display-more-prone-to-damage concern, is that I think it feels odd to carry a plastic-wrapped and/or display-wrapped phone.

Whackcar, 03 Mar 2019Both the Fold & the X have a crease in the middle. Sams... moreSAMSUNG is very clever and use some tricks to hide the crease. They also don't let the media reviewers to touch the phone.
HUAWEI is much more honest. They don't use any tricks to hide the wrinkle on the unpack event. They also let the reviewers try the phone themselves.
That's why I choose HUAWEI Mate X.

Since I need the bigger screen to be protected, I guess the fold-in design will be best suited for me. I have one exigence though, the size of the smaller screen should be between 5,5"- 6"

Most companies should start rebooting phone designs from over a decade ago.
I want to see a 2020 version of the Nokia N95, N97, N900, N9/Lumia 800, and the Google Nexus One. Also a newer version of the HTC One M7 with the same build quality. The newer phone designs of today are so bland. It was way more interesting like 5 to 12 years ago.
The last Sony smartphone that looked interesting to me was the Xperia Z3/Z3 Compact from 2014. I wish they rebooted the Xperia S, acro S, and ZR. The ZR was water-resistant but actually had a removable battery. I love the feeling of that phone with the cool LED lights.
I've been a student of phones since 2004. The best era was from 2007-2014. Maybe a little resurgence in 2016 but truly died in innovation to me by 2017.

I was never really into the Motorola RAZR when I owned it. I already had a Motorola V600 in 2004 which did similar things like the original V3 but with a thicker clamshell. But if a foldable RAZR does come out, I might be interested.
The original RAZR wasn't a smartphone. So getting a smartphone copy of the old RAZR would be interesting. I would only be interested because of the small form factor. I would've got that Nokia 3310 (2017) for $50 had it come with Wi-Fi and a touchscreen.
Going back to the flip phone/clamshell era for me is mostly for both nostalgia and smaller form factor purposes. I want to go back to one-handed ease. I'll probably enjoy the novelty for a little bit before going back to that same ol' slab design for GPS purposes.
I do carry around three phones with me per day, so a 2019 RAZR as my main phone wouldn't be an issue. I'll just carry it for style points. The clamshell form factor does protect the screen from scratches. Can't wait when Motorola releases their foldable...

Folding outward is a stupid idea. Normal phone people use screen guards then a case all that for its safety. What they gonna do with all that screen area if that folding outward. Samsung has the perfect solution. Just need a case if it needed.

AnonD-762416, 03 Mar 2019I think you're in the minority there. A three part origami ... moreWell actually It will be at least as quick to pull out a Z to straight than unfolding. So better than an outwards folding two-part design.
But yes the "e" will be more cumbersome to completely unfold.
But the aspect ratio with only one fold is going to be odd either folded or unfolded.

I need a 16:9 unfolded screen. I think the Xiaomi could work but things huge. I need it phone size when it's folded.
