So much technology, so much knowledge, so much effort, so much money invested in these 700-800-1000 dollar phones, and yet, a 3 years old entry level $300 digital SLR camera makes way better photos, with real, not fake and "simulated", bokeh.

Manufacturers can easily add telephoto ultra wide with variable focal lengths only they have to add and work as is with some software tricks for which libraries are already available on internet. But Nokia have bring back a different approach where all the 5 cameras work together which is a considered as a big Single camera with multiple lens.
First learn the technology instead of saying just a word "crap". Its easy to add these word but the work which they have done is truly recognize. Iam happy user of Nokia and feeling proud that i have made a right decision to buy Nokia phone back since 2017 on their start.

Hahaha..... increased RAM size is the biggest marketing trick....how much is Ur RAM?2GB .....mine 12.....awwwww.....sad....I don't think so Samsung is the best on value for money

This phone is about taking bokeh closer to DSLR which is the USP of this phone. Not trying to go head on head against other rival flagships. Also this is a limited edition selling limited quantities.

It goes further than the article says.
To get the best closeup shot can be millimeters, center meters or inches, and the same sort of thing long distance. It can be a strain to get these shoots. As with the depthy examples above, you can get the shoot close enough, and fine tune in post. Another thing is dewarpping closeup images and doing the job of a tilt lens. Great stuff for food and architecture pictures.
Bokeh is not just blur. Different lenses have different looking Bokeh, which give pleasing results to images, and lens are valued professionally for the look of this effect on a lens. With computational photography we see here. It's possible to emulate the look lens costing tens of thousands if dollars.
You can not only choose your focal point, but also the depth of field spread, which is very important. But what I realised many years ago, is you can choose different depth of field and focal points for different parts of the image, as if each part had a different type of lens, but also the angle of the focal plain.
You get a virtual zoom function.
Normal larger format lenses see around a point in a picture (as can be seen in the depthy example once again) as the extremes of the lens gathers light from another angle around objects, giving a peculiar and flattening look to the picture and closeups. This is how our eyes see and what matching medium format cameras like Imax 10 perf format, does. Superb shoots, even close up. You really need these sort of features to produce good bokeh.
Another aspect is bit depth and dynamic range. It might be a bit difficult to get extra bit depth from overlapping cameras, but you should be able to get 16 stops+ dynamic range.
There is s lot more that can be done than Light has shown on this technology. Given the Snap dragon 845's severe limitations for multi camera setups, the video aspect could at least use 3 or 4 cameras to do 2k multipoint video at very high quality with all the post effects. In a future phone 4k/8k versions. A lot of professionals would then buy the phone as s personal on site camera.
