What makes the US think it can ask another sovereign nation to pick up a company exec and treat her like a common thief and expect their citizens to be treated fair? Tit for tat, buddy. That's international relations. You do me, I do you. Simple

About time Huawei took stand. USA is a hypocrite country, thus it's always nice to see them taste their own poison.
It would be great if the trial goes fair somehow & Huawei wins & gains entry into the US, so their residents can also experience some of the best phones money can buy.

Huawei, tool of a repressive regime, accusing the United States of being undemocratic and unfair. That's rich. The U.S. can and did exercise its right to ban a foreign company from operating in its country for national security reasons. Again, it's a ridiculous claim by Huawei given how China itself operates, from the protectionism and currency devaluation to its strict censorship laws that even keep out information from its country.
And let's not forget China essentially took innocent Canadians hostage in an attempt to force Canada to deny the United States' extradition request of the Huawei executive.

The last Oracle, 04 Mar 2019The United States has been arm twisting other countries in ... moreGlad to know there are other people who aren't blindly siding with USA just because USA told them "Communism bad. Huawei bad. They won't let us install our own backdoors in their equipment so it's unfair for us wahhh."
Half (probably all, actually) of the comments here talking sh!t about Huawei probably don't even know the scandal that the US got itself in some years ago with its own GLOBAL surveillance programs.
But no, USA is always the hero. Communism is bad.

The United States has been arm twisting other countries in trade wars foe rhe last 100 years. It is good that other companies have started fighting back. The US IPR and Free Trade regime smacks of all sorts of shocking practices, way beyond f r a u d .
The sole reason for the whole Huawei issue is a trade war too. The US doesn't have 5G tech and the implementation will take half a decade. It doesn't even have 4G at most places yet.

Based on what I know, USA has no direct evidence of Huawei using digital espionage, however Huawei is actually active in it.
It's sort of like a Shopping Mall banning someone because they are a thief. The person gets angry, "I've never been caught stealing, this is illegal to ban me for no reason". However, that person did steal (minor) before and was planning on stealing in the future.
Perhaps this is a good development. It might mean Huawei is back on the market, and bringing competition to the technology sector, whilst, it also might mean Huawei is overseen by a third-party and they put in safe practices that make it very difficult/impossible for their devices to be used for espionage by China.
And even better, China might change their current laws (to catch up to Europe and North America) which means their government cannot interfere with a private company and make demands. Unlike their current laws which allows the Chinese government to legally storm Huawei's HQ's and force them to do decryption, install backdoors, take control of the company, and supply any data they have even if it is collected/stored overseas.
