Nokia Lumia 800 still selling greatly, in some places at least

29 December, 2011
The smartphone is doing well in Netherlands in Germany, but its UK performance is disappointing.

Had this phone a month and wouldnt recommend it to anyone.Ive already had the facebook virus on it and numerous issues with the rubbish onboard battery. It also has to be the ugliest cheapest looking phone ever and malware ridden as usual with anything windows. Also why cant you chage it while its switched off?.A stupid phone that only fanboys will buy.its put me off nokia for life.Back to apple now.Same restrictions but a better phone all round.Enough said.

The only answer for the question why every new android phone is sold like hot cakes is becos of the functionality . Not just becos of fan boys. Fan boys never feed a company. Functionality is the only reason why android devices are best sellers every where even with their shitty build quality (take galaxy s2 for example) . If you intend to sell an expensive device you need to give the user high end functionality. Nokia should know that windows should know that.

When r Nokia going to launch Lumia in Malaysia ? We could only get it from Singapore, which is not warranty outside Singapore.
The Lumia had been in website for months but the product never arrived.
They just missed out the golden oppotunity of Chrismas & year end bonus shopping spread, which most ended up in Samsung & Apple cash box.
Nokia Malaysia too refuse to bring in 603, which i intend to purchase, not sure what kind of marketing they do here, maybe waiting for the company to go chapter 11 i supposed.

Web OS is pretty good and even better than WP7 but where is Web OS now? The same thing applies with MeeGo. Being good and under rated means trouble when the masses don't have the desire to buy the product. That's what WP7 suffers from and it will be hard to reverse this trend.

I might have a soft spot for Nokia hardware and now the WP7 software, but that doesn't mean I'm not open to Android and iOS devices. If all you're gonna do is attack me for my stand with this device, then this argument is over. Just look at reviews and blogs about opinions on WP7 and you'll see how underrated this OS is.

During Christmas Weekend, Android and iOS saw around 3.7 and 3.4 million activation's, the majority of those activation's are in those countries I just mentioned above. Also your logic doesn't make sense, Zune may not be viable competitor against the likes of itunes, however Xbox Live has no apple competitor, which is one of the attractions of WP7, the Xbox Live integration, in fact those "dynamic" tiles you mention of has an Xbox Live tile right there. So why don't all those xbox live users(there are tons of them) choose WP7 over Android and iOS? The US has the largest base of xbox live users by the way.

Also another point, you say carriers push Android and iOS devices more, that must mean customers enjoy the experience and devices more and are LESS likely to return these devices, because those sales staff make money on commission, meaning if they keep their contracts and devices these guys get additional pay. In the US every state has a 15 day buyer's remorse on cell phones, 30 days in California and some states. IF WP7 was as good as you nokia/WP& fanboys say, then it would make more sense for them to push WP7 devices as there is less chances of returns meaning they keep their commission, however all data points to this not being true, meaning WP7 isn't as good as an experience or device you guys want it to be.

Here's the most apparent problem is the US, only iOS and Android that's in the head in the majority of the US people. With carriers pushing mostly Android and iOS, it's hard to blame WP7 and Nokia's 'popularity' in the US. Like you said, we'll just have to wait and see how the Nokia/WP7 combo fares in the US under T-Mobile and AT&T.

So the smily face changing when you get a message is considered "innovative" and "refreshing"? Deadmau5 isn't promoting Nokia, he merely played for them in London. Not once during his performance did his live stage even have anything to do with Nokia. So you're saying the only thing holding WP7 back is the fanboys of android and iOS? LOL you realize WP7 has fanboys too right? So how come those fanboys aren't helping spread the message? Obviously they'd be telling their friends the pros and benefits of WP7, unless they were hit with the SMS that disabled messaging ;) Nokia Lumia 800 is coming to AT&T in the US, so lets see how much of a splash it'll be when it arrives vs Galaxy nexus, Iphone 4S, and Galaxy SII skyrocket, after all if its as good as you claim it to be fanboys shouldn't matter right?
