HAHAHAH like MP count is everything x) it's NOT !!! Lenses and depth of field is something that makes a photo appealing!!! Not a usless pixel count, making absurdly huge photos...for what?!?!!? x)

People are bashing the high MP cameras without even understanding the purpose & benefit of it.
These high MP cameras are not meant to take full-resolution images. They're meant to downscale the image to achieve more detailed images thanks to pixel binning.
40 MP = 10 MP
48 MP = 12 MP
64 MP = 16 MP
80 MP = 20 MP
100 MP = 25 MP
At the end of the day, you end up with the same resolution you've had since years. The benefit is the fact that you'll end up with more detail thanks to the tech...

Actually 2MP is more than enough to view in your phone and print out 4R.
Getting higher and higher like 100MP is ridiculous and you might end up purchasing more cloud storage to backup your photos etc...

Eh, I'd much rather have a 12 MP high-sensor-size camera than a 48, 50, or even 100MP camera with the typical small 1/2.3" sensor. Unfortunately, most people don't even understand the difference between sensors, and they only see megapixels.

Higher mp does not equal higher quality images. Only take up more space...
