Google's mid-rangers will be called Pixel 3a, the small one will have a 5.6" OLED screen

19 March 2019
The Pixel 3a is said to match the image quality of the flagship Pixels, though its mid-range chipset needs more time to process photos.

If the price for Pixel 3a is under 300$ then it’s okay. if it's near 400/450$ then there are other better options like oneplus 6t, xiaomi mi 9, honor v20, galaxy s9 with flagship level performance

64 GB, my bad. I originally thought 32 GB.

Another phone I considered getting is the Xperia XA2. Good size. Matte back. Headphone jack. Only 3 GB RAM and came with Oreo originally.

I just want to own a Pixel again. My first experience with the original Pixel was great. I just think the Essential Phone is better than it in every way except no headphone jack.

The only real, real downer for the smaller 3a is the 32 GB. I hope there is a 128 GB option. But I can live with 32 GB if it's basically replacing my throwaway phone in the Moto E4 and my SE combined. Even my iPhone SE has only 32 GB and I'm totally fine with it.

The fact the 3a should have the same camera as the 3 is perfect. I can live with the minor delay. I just want the smooth experience of Pie and headphone jack again. My Essential lacks the jack and it gets annoying. The 3a also won't come in a glass backs like how all flagship phones do these days.

I do believe the Samsung Galaxy S10e is still the better deal overall. Flagship SoC. Has a wide-angle rear cam. Has headphone jack. High storage space with microSD expansion. But again, I personally don't like any skin on it and despise glass backs.

      My 2019 Wishlist
      1. Google Pixel 3a
      2. Samsung Galaxy S10e

The 10e is the better phone and deal for most people. Not the better phone for me but for most people. Again, I'm not asking for the moon and stars here. I only need a solid phone to replace my Moto E4 and iPhone SE for work. I'll probably still use my Essential Phone as my daily driver.

Nomore iPhones for me. Never again. I just can't stand iOS and iTunes. SE will be my favorite and my last. If an iPhone 6s is offered to me for only $100, I still wouldn't want it.

Ffs, other manufacturer is not capable of making this compact phone? ANYONE?

The smaller Pixel 3a is the one I want. This could be my next phone considering it will cheaper, plastic back, and headphone jack.

For the past week or so, I've been checking online for the original Pixel. I see some going for $100-$130 refurbished. I used to own the white one two years and I've been wanting to own it again lately.

I no longer carry my iPhone SE since the iOS version of the Dasher app is inferior to Android's. Keeps crashing. Can't set my schedules well in advance. So I leave it at home next to my V20 and G5. I only bring my Essential and Moto E4 daily.

Now if this 3a comes out, I might end up getting this one instead of the og Pixel. My Moto E4 is a throwaway phone but it lags. This 3a becomes an expensive throwaway phone but I want the smooth software experience.

I won't buy it right away. I'll wait for the discounts in 6-8 months for it. This is the Pixel 3 I always wanted. I hate glass backs, large phones, or the fact it lacks a headphone jack. It was either og Pixel or S10e but thank goodness this 3a is arriving. A better deal.

Read this article. Totally agree with everything said here.

            but, NFC?

Dr. Chillo, 19 Mar 2019As long as HTC is the manufacturer behind of Google phones,... moreI don't think the problem is HTC, the problem is that Google just sucks at hardware design. After all, they design the damn things.

Dr. Chillo, 19 Mar 2019As long as HTC is the manufacturer behind of Google phones,... moreHTC is still the King of Phones. Having Google buyout the best in HTC is an honor.

As long as HTC is the manufacturer behind of Google phones, there will be no hope in Google Pixel phones. Maybe Google must start listening to their customers and spend a bit more money to make real flagships, focusing only on camera and not even adding wide angle and telephoto camera doesn’t attract us to buy their phones. After shooting some pictures with ultra wide angle and telephoto lens in S10 there’s no way I go back to a single or dual camera setup.
