What a shame.
I think the last decent-sized Xperia is the XA2. I also like that design better than the XZ2 Compact. I think the XZ2C is too chubby. XA2 is also reasonably priced.
I'm going for the Pixel 3a. I want that Pixel 3 camera for cheaper.

At least their highest giraffes are still available globally. Who knows if in a few years we will have to travel to Japan to be able to touch and try one. How much will they charge for each additional cm?

SpiritWolf, 20 Mar 2019Actually there's only 2 screen ratios that make sense. 16:9... more16:9 was nice before the on-screen buttons appeared. They made it pointless. So 18:9 was a welcome change.
That said, if a phone has capacitive or mechanical buttons 16:9 is still fine.

That's still bad. While XZ2 Compact is perfectly manageable one-handed (and the switch to 18:9 was awesome as it has finally redeemed the screen space stolen by screen buttons without impacting one-handed use) this is obviously too much. Plus it will be too thin, XZ2C is extremely comfortable to hold and to use partly due to its rounded back and nice thickness.
I'm not opposed to 21:9 but this is absolutely not how it should be done. They should make the phone narrower, not taller. Keep the height of XZ2C but shrink the width to 60-62 mm, that would be truly awesome.

Yeah, I've owned only Sony phones since 2006. Looks like Sony is dead to me. That isn't compact, nor does it have a jack. The XZ4 compact leak was perfect. Exactly what I wanted to buy.

Lots of hypocrisy on internet ...
From bottom to top of the screen of 10 must be about 14,3 cm. On 10+ about 15,4.
Few reviewrs say the cannot reach top of screen with one hand.
Weird because on other phones the distance between bottom and top of screen is more than 15cm. But they do not complain.
Reviewers are able to use Mate 20X and Mi max3 ( both have more than 17cm) but have issues to handle shorter phone. Even more issues than they have with Z Ultra.
How is that possible?

xeroga, 20 Mar 2019The scattered screen ratios in the past few years really hu... moreJust like they said , lots of content 21:9 on Youtube, Amazon and Netflix.
Of course most is still 16:9. The 18:9 and 19:9 are useless.
If people watch youtube videos on their phones, why not movies?
I remember Sammyboys even said Nexflix had 18:9 stuff just to justify the change on s8. Fun fact is the no camcorder has 18:9 mode. So they cant record this ratio.

The scattered screen ratios in the past few years really hurts Android, IMO. many apps are not optimized and are either displayed with black bars or some parts have been cut. I cannot understand why so many firms pushing out phones with such ratios.

This one is probably just for Japan.
The prototype 5G at their booth must be Xperia 2.
