22 March 2019
There is no option for Full HD+ switch, everything is shown in 3840 x 1644 pixels.

I had phones with 1440 x 2560, 1440 x 2960 and now 1440 x 3040. And i never thought to myself that this tiny screen needs more pixels. Having a more advanced (or whatever you want to call it) screen is nice, but i hope for sony's sake that this isn't the only selling point of this device.

Sony Xperia 1 has only 6 mp display. 4K is 8 mp. So Stop this lie.

Someone posted on XB that used the prototype of this device and battery endurance is equal to s10+.

I absolutely adore this phone, but I seriously doubt that this is their mainstream flagship of 2019.
I mean, why would they suddenly utilize a smaller sensor than their previous flagship anyway? It's already given for them to add OIS and lessen the sensor resolution in favor of larger pixels, but as a company that's know for their great lineup of full-frame digital cameras, they would've already done something that's a step above their competitors already.
The new IMX666 sensor that's 1/1.8" large and 66.6MP in resolution might be used for the true Premium-like version of the Xperia 1, and also be Sony's first Quad camera phone, with also the monochrome sensor joining the group.

That said, I'm anticipating for the compact flagship (!!!) from Sony this year. Same height as Xperia Z5 Compact but the added benefit of skinnier look of 18:9 bezel less design.
Resolution could go down to as low as 720p if it means greater battery life and performance.

But having said that, people are hysterical since those factors are not huge compared to a smaller screen.

I've been using my XZ Premium for over a year now with the screen permanently set to run in 4K (It's very easy to enable)
It didn't really have any noticeable effect on battery life. It's still got the best battery life of any smartphobe phone I've had.
