A few wise words for HTC:
1. Make slimmer and lighter phones-Tight jeans(even for gents) are so much in vogue these days that no one is willing to walk with a hefty slab of a phone that can't fit in a tight pocket.
2. Drop your current crop of LCD displays and find something better-Retinas and AMOLEDS are just getting better while you are still languishing in mediocrity.
3. Drop Qualcomm chip sets- they are no match for the current and upcoming crop of Exynos and Tegras.
4. Although you are second-to-none when it comes to user interface sophistication and eye-candy, stop focusing all your attention on Sense. Even the Google Nexus is naked(read unskinned)and still a force to be reckoned with.
5. Eliminate (and do not deny) any kind of death grips from your phones. Am sure the Sensation partly lost market due to this flaw. Anyone like me who is slightly geeky knows all to well not to venture into the Sensation world.
6. Last but not least, remember you are not the best(at least for now), so for God's sake keep your phone prices down! How do you set the Sensation's price that close to the GSII? Like the buyer will not notice the gorgeous super AMOLED Plus on the latter, add just a few pennies to the bargain and carry him home, huh?

I don’t understand why some people like to condemn mobilephones made in one particular! Why picked on only that country? If you think you belong to the superiority country and good luck to you. If your country produces high quality phone then shout till your face turns blue! Let’s keep the topic on mobilephones only.
It is good to be proud of your own nationality but condemning others? Let’s not be racist and play politics here! I really disgust by these people’s low mentality.

AnonD-21645, 06 Jan 2012I'm afraid I disagree... People are willing to pay a pre... moreMay be your country has contracts for phones system, in India, HTC is not considered boring, people like those designs, its just, its way costlier than Sony Ericsson phones, the SE phone provides similar hardware quality, better looks, n i believe xperia n sense, both belong to same league, Its just overpricing in india is killing HTC's market.

CatchMeIfYouCan, 06 Jan 2012Need a superphone to come out lol. Something to compete wit... moreNow this I kind of agree with (I don't know what's got me going on this, it's just I probably don't want HTC to fail...)
BUT
And lots of people are comparing with Sammy...
Each manufacturer needs a killer device - a true flagship device...
Sammy has this - it's very much there - it's the Galaxy S - the first was their flagship - the 2nd even moreso - with specs that still will match phones coming out this year - it's boring but it's distinctive enough for people to know that if you get this you're getting their very best...
HTC on the other hand has the Evo, it has the Sensation, it has Sensation XE, and XL, and Desire and all these other ones - all with very very similar specs... You buy an HTC product and within months a similar one with maybe slightly better tweaks come out.. AAAAAAAAAND they all look the bl00dy same! To a non-techie - you show these phones to people and they wouldn't be able to tell the difference - even if those included a supposed HTC 'flagship' device...
They need ONE phone that lasts at least a year that LOOKS different to the rest that they can pour marketing and effort into - they need a premium product...
SonyE has Arc
Sammy has GS2
Nokia has Lumia 800 / 900
HTC has Evo? Sensation? I love mobiles and I couldn't tell you definitively what their flagship model is...

AnonD-21645, 06 Jan 2012I've said it before and I'll say it again... The reason ... moreExactly Fongy. Their Sensation is all plastic design which is crap. I wish they made a full aluminum unibody with design something like HERO. And the sense design got old and unpleasant to view.

AnonD-32386, 06 Jan 2012this is what happens when a company overprice products even... moreI'm afraid I disagree...
People are willing to pay a premium for a quality "desirable" product (look at iphone) I honestly don't think it's about OS - I mean Sense is probably the 'nicest' looking Android skin out there - but if your handset looks like a boring slab of grey - when SonyE are bring out lovely curved things, and Sammy are sporting amazing screens and thin, light designs with cutting edge specs - why would you?
HTC to me now (and I used to love them, had many HTC devices in the past) says 'middle ground boring' - they don't excel in any area (not specs, not screen, definitely not camera) and their designs are ageing fast...
They need to knock Sense on the head and spend the money designing physical tech - who wants Sense restricting things when ICS is around the corner?

this is what happens when a company overprice products even when they are getting OS for free (android). They just have to put efforts on development of HTC sense. This will be the fate of apple after few years

I've said it before and I'll say it again...
The reason for HTC's current downfall and for SonyE's downfall a couple of years ago was because their designs / phones were so indistinguishable and bland..
HTC's rise came about with great designs (the Hero, Prism, etc.) and before every phone became a touchscreen rectangle...
Similarly when SonyE's early Xperia range (X10) and many of their handsets before that... all of them too similar...it meant you couldn't differentiate and because their specs were so middle of the road - people wanted more...
You look at HTC's range over the past 2 years - THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME - it's impossible to distinguish from their mid-range phones to their flagship ones... between the wildfire, evolution, etc. there's very little between them.. and look at their 2012 ones - again, bland and uninspiring...
The only reason Sammy is getting away with their bland designs (possibly the worst designs of the lot - I have a GS2 - I know!) is because they're ahead in the specs department - way ahead...
Only now has SonyE learned with its Arc series - but looking at the Nozomi it's taking a huge step backwards towards undesirable X10 territory again...
If your specs are middle of the road you need a handset that screams "wow" and a design that is radically different...
HTC grey slabs just don't cut it anymore...
And it's such a shame... less focus on laggy, boring Sense and more focus on specs and handset design is what is needed...

to be honest (as a samsung galaxy s2 user) i think htc's ui's is awesome compared to others and i think they have excellent potential to rise to the top if they stop making mistakes. for example, i really hate their designs. Its just curved and thats all nothing fancy and its thick as hell. why dont they make phones as thin as an iphone for galaxy s products. it just doesnt make sence. appart from that everything else is excellent.

i had SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE AND HAVE GALAXY S2. still not satisfied with its quality. especially back covers, infact the whole body. outlook of samsung is not good at all.it looks cheap. i mean the UI. HTC UI is far more better than samsung. the reason why samsung is leading is they r producing new phones EVERY WEEK. lols. can u beat that? literally, all those weekely phones with similar designs. and CAMERS sucks for samsung. dont know whats gna happen nxt. but this is totally my view , m not here to quarrel with any1 for phones lolz. just giving my point of view.
