This device is not for number diggers, and dares to have personality, something that got lost after Nokia departure from Smartphone world. This device is not for dreamers it is for people who do not buy into trend, who have a character and live by their own rules, not by market share. A device that only a Nokia corporation minded person could pull of in this market of sheeps and devices for them. Their will not be a lot of people buying this device, as fhere are not to many that have a peronal opinion, or personality. But this device is not addressed to the mass. This is the continuity of the pureview legacy. Why they did, all followed. Now, what this device does, all will follow.

So yes I prefer to have less light and details but what eveyrbody is looking is to take a clean picture easily and quickly.
Why? Because normal people who spend time to have the better picture, they come with the equipment to do the better picture.
If it's for have a near of real camera quality but with all the disadvantages then no it's again a bad phone and for an old flagship 600 euros it's too expansive. A lot of 2018 devices with same components are findable for less than that and they offer maybe less sharp pictures but they didn't have to spend their time to wait for the pictures...

Nokia 9 PureView is the undisputed champion at Still and Tripod Photography but too bad this isn't catered to the fast-paced, real time picture taking millennials.

And I agree, no miracle should be expected from this phone when it shoots in JPEG.
Yeah, processing time is a con for this phone. I think in case of high-intensity sports scene, users need to use the pics from a single lens only. Perhaps a version with SD855 plus Nokia's software optimizations will decrease processing times significantly? Hope so!

If we talk about Nokia 9 it is necessary to remind that revolutionary technologies do not always work perfectly from the first second. While Nokia 9 cameras as well as the human brain, do not use half of the features and need updates.
But even now, if you look at the first comparison Nokia 9 is far superior to Samsung S10+ and iPhone XS MAX in daylight.
If we talk about raw it's just another league. Nokia's colors are natural, the details are pixel precise, and the dynamic range is extremely wide.

ZloiYuri, 01 Apr 2019Outdated processor, small battery, insane price, bad pics. ... moreIf Foxconn goes away from the buziness it's doing with HMD, then there will be no Xbox, no playstation, no iPhone, well, at least 1/3 less electronic device since Foxconn only manufacture what brands ask them to. They did not design anything and had Nothing to do with the small battery, the proc used, or anything related to this phone.
If you think that's poor choices here, it's not due to the taiwanese company, it's only due to the finnish people that choosed to do things like this. Yep, HMD, aka, former Nokia phone part.
Foxconn is really good at doing what we, westerner, ask them to do: bullying under aged chineses to do cheap stuff for us :)
