Ivelin, 01 Apr 2019Otherwise i have iphone 5s-2013! Still has the latest ios. ... moreBecause all Android OEM’s wants you to buy the new flagship instead of keeping your old flagship since that android flagship doesn’t has even a good resale value like iPhone and price drop fast, so they can’t make money p easily p, and the second reason is android phones hardware limitation that the old flagship can’t handle the new version of Android like old iPhone can handle new version of iOS for more than 4 years.

Ivelin, 01 Apr 2019This is offensive. S7 divices are so smooth in everyday use... moreAt least Samsung doesn't cripple their devices behind their customers back or sell shody quality devices with defects ("-gate") to force them buy new overpriced iPhones.

S7 is a great phone from March 2016, & has had 2 major OS updates from Android 6.0 (Marshmallow), to Android 7.0 (Nougat), to Android 8.0 (Oreo), yes Android 9 (Pie) with One UI would be nice, but Oreo is good.
It's been receiving monthly Security updates (although a few carriers did Quarterly), now all S7's will be Quarterly.
My 2015 S6 got 3 years & 3 months (last 1 was June 2018 (I haven't checked in 2019 yet)), & I really hope you get more because you should, the Galaxy A5 (2016) is still getting Quarterly updates, so the Flagship S7 should have a year or 2 longer.
I expect 5 years security updates with any Flagship.
The MINIMUM of Security Updates should be:
3 years= Entry level
4 years= Midrange
5 years= Flagship
ANY manufacturer which provides less should be named & shamed, any achieving or exceeding this should be praised.

Anonymous, 01 Apr 2019"killing update"? sorry, Samsung isn't Apple when it comes ... moreOtherwise i have iphone 5s-2013! Still has the latest ios. The battery is down sure, as my s7, but still gets regular updates. S7 is a flagship phone with fine SoC. Why can’ t i have the latest android?! Just 3 months security updates. Was S7 cheap in the beggining?! I do not think so. Sorry

Who cares about updates after their devices exceed more than two years anyway? Just buy a gdmn latest smartphone for yourself! Batteries are getting its age and time as well as we do. And also, most folks who buys a flagship like me buy a phone every two or a just year. So I dont care about updates that much.
