Hope google use Huawei or Samsung to manufacture their phone instead of LG.

Walter C. Dornez, 02 Apr 2019I suppose. That battery is just disappointing thoughBattery life isn't disappointing at all - just 24-hour running on one charge as 95% of other flagship phones. Sure it could be be better though.

The only nice-looking Pixels were the panda Pixel 2 XL and the black Pixel 3. Throw in the white Pixel 3 as well since it hides fingerprints and scratches better. If I had to choose, it would be that white Pixel 3 over the black one. Yet, my poor man's Pixel 2 in the Essential Phone looks better than all of them especially the one that comes in halo gray.

rolandudv, 01 Apr 2019Certainly agree, still rocking the Panda 2 XL to this day. ... moreYeah, the Panda is number one on the list, followed closely by the OG Pixel blue imo

a simple dude, 01 Apr 2019The little Pixel 3 also look decent.I suppose. That battery is just disappointing though

Essanpe, 01 Apr 2019Only the XL one !!I mean out of all the Pixels

The overall user experience is perfect on Pixel phones. Everything works as it should nice and smoothly. I wish that Huawei copied OS perfection from Google. That would be a perfect smartphone.

Hopefully the new pixel is more generous in the hardware department too. It's usually only about the camera. Everything else seems just about ok or below average.

                      I don't get it.

Why realease Pixel 3a when they could simply continue to sell pixel 2 ?
Pixel 3a hardware based on leaks looks worse that pixel 2 anyway.

Still rocking my OG pixel XL but will be pick this up soon

I basically have the poor man's Pixel 2 with the Essential Phone and I'm perfectly happy with it. A little shorter. Better design and build quality. Excellent battery life. And it only cost me $250 brand new.

I really don't need this Pixel 2 when I feel my Essential Phone. I do need a replacement for my iPhone SE. The Dasher app for iOS and my SE is already starting to slow down. It's practically unbearable to use on mobile Twitter.

I will never buy another iPhone again. I'll stick to stock Android devices. My dream replacement is the Pixel 3 but I might as well wait for the Pixel 4. The Pixel 3 still only has one rear lens and 4 GB RAM.

My requirements is for the device to have Pie with the webOS-like gestures swipes that iPhone fans keep thinking Apple invented. The Xperia XZ1 Compact has Pie but it doesn't have those gestures. Needs to be good one-handed. Matte back.

Pixel 1, 2, or 3 might be the only ones like that so far. I had the first Pixel and love that it has a headphone jack but I kinda want something newer.

Avoid midrange to entry-level phones. They get slower much faster over time. Always go for a flagship SoC. They'll age better.

I wanted the smaller Pixel 2 or 3 but I might as well wait for the Pixel 4.

I was testing my LG G5 vs Essential Phone when it came to rendering old Next Generation magazines in pdf form. My G5 was actually able to show the whole thing slightly faster. Not bad for a Snapdragon 820 chip.

I mention this because the 835 which the Pixel 2 has isn't that much better than the 820. So why bother paying another $300 reburbished when it's not even all that faster than a smartphone from three years ago?

Plus, the G5 already has the wide-angle cam. It was the first to introduce it. Everyone else is now copying LG with it. Shows you how ahead of the game LG was over three years ago.

The Pixel 4 needs to have another lens on the back and at least 6-8 GBs of RAM or no buy. Pixels are only great with their computational photography but so behind everywhere else.

I do want another Pixel only because the software experience is very fluid and smooth. I hate bloat. I also hate the price for these Pixels.

Of course you will still get software updates for the Pixel 2, but when less people use the Pixel 2, there isn't so much pressure for Google that they need to fix bugs, etc.. Furthermore when someone buys a new Pixel 2, Google might need to repair it when it suddenly doesn't work. And I think that Google hates repairing older phones, they have a terrible customer service. When you send them a mail, they might tell you some weeks later that you will get an answer soon, but you never get an answer. When you want to phone/chat with them, they want access to the data of your phone, no matter how simple the question is. No way!

I hope the Panda colour combo makes a comeback for the Pixel 4 though. If not, of course, a skin will fix my issue, but I still really want to see it happening though.

"This shouldn’t come as a surprise given the fact that the phones were released back in October 2017." Gsmarena really?? Apple still sells the iPhone 7!!! I think that Google just hates supporting old devices, it's a terrible attitude. That's why the Pixel 2 was often even more expensive than the Pixel 3. They didn't want people to buy the Pixel 2.
