      1. yes it is absolutely unacceptable for any phone manufacturer to deceive their prospective customers.
      2. Any marketing campaign no matter how true or exaggerated, does not reveal the entirety of the on-device experience. they are there to encourage audience and publicity, so we should always take those ads with a grain of salt and see for any disclaimers attached.
      3. The user experience will always vary no matter how the phone is marketed. Some expectation are met and some will not be.

(Don't get me that A8 story. They were showing the LiveFocus effect and the image did have a disclaimer that this was for illustration purposes only).

Huawei is proudly lying to customers. I'm proudly hating liars.

Don't show a dream PR device that's better than IRL! People are not buying that dream PR phone, they are buying that IRL phone. Huawei's phones have some good stuff to show for, all ruined through lies, lies that are supported by the CEO himself...

I get it that the Marketing/PR dept wants to make it better than it is. They almost all do it. But when the CEO gets brainwashed by his company's ads, we have a problem.

If Huawei thinks their stuff is worth their price, they shouldn't lie. And I wouldn't be here if Huawei didn't lie so repeatedly in recent history.

Kinda like Microsoft with IE5/6/7/8 and ActiveX. There are still companies that can't change their browsers (or OS!) since they need THIS app to work and it's based on THIS particular IE/ActiveX control/behavior and rewriting the whole app would be a lengthy, tedious and expensive process. Though instead of lengthy, tedious and expensive, it would be a reeducating process.
