Dual cameras went from 3D to wide-angle shooting. IR was a way to transfer data, then turned phones into TV remotes.

Like, the freedom to choose whether you want to use wired headphones or wireless headphones. Last I checked, phones with headphone jacks still have Bluetooth, and so can choose what to use.

AnonD-731363, 14 Apr 2019Killing the jack to use more bluetooth the only good idea. ... moreLol, if it is not broken dont fix it. 3.5mm jack destroyes any wireless bluetooth earphones or head sets, plus convenience just to not worry about charging another item in your life is blessing. Fxxx wireless listening with all its negativities just keep 3.5mm jack and be happy

You are spending half of your day outside and when you reach home it's time to go to bed. Hope you still have time to bond with your family.

imparanoic, 17 Apr 2019i can believe you have dissing audiophile grade phone dp-cm... moreWell, I'm not that an audiophile, and I Believe you about this phone. My point in first place was just to say we do not loose anything by having to use and adaptor rather than having a jack port with a poorly integrated DAC like we have in the vast majority of phone, we could even have a better sound (not a lot better, but a good enought for everyone) since some phone had really poor quality sound output. Obvisouly, there are/were niche phone with good integrated audio part, but it's not the case of your average phone from Samsung, apple, huawei, or any other brand that will focus on what is easily seen by the crowd and not really the internal that will do the difference for a few.

pointless chating to you, it's like comparing someone who only drives a 1.2 sohc car with 80bhp (such your truely wireless ) which only does 0-60mph in 14secs in performance terms to an 330 bhp mk7 golf r which does 0-60mph in 4.7 secs!! (dp-cmx1)

Without being a native English speaker and without knowing a lot about audio stuff I could translate it to you:
"It's true the usb-C allows to have the digital to analog converter into an adaptor that can be swapped for better quality, rather than being stuck with the sometime poor choice of the manufacturer when there is a 3.5mm jack port. But the dongle that are given with the phones, and the small adaptors we can found everywhere, have often a small and cheap DAC and the result is not that good. A better solution would be using a more Professional DAC but it would be not practical since it's big."

i have a marantz cd player cd67se and marantz pm66se amp and tannoy m2 speakers (they are in storage), they sound good and it will put any bluetooth speaker and mini hifi to shame, like fine wine and classic cars.

There are really few review with lab test of the sound output of that kind of port.
