Dual cameras went from 3D to wide-angle shooting. IR was a way to transfer data, then turned phones into TV remotes.

Anonymous, 16 Apr 2019It is as simple as using a USB type C to 3.5mm adaptor. Wh... moreBecause a USB-C to 3.5mm jack is not a simple cable but have a DAC inside and that's what I'm talking about ;) The DAC (digital to analog converter) is what transform your digital signal from USB-c to analog one used in headphone.

There is Always a DAC somewhere since all music now is digital (unless you're playing a vinyle). It can be Inside the phone (for the one with a jack port) Inside the dongle (for usb-C to 3.5mm adaptor) or Inside the earphone, for Wireless ones.

You can choose the adaptor, so the DAC, and so the quality. It's not complicated, it's how it works ;)

Dunno why no one understand that no Jack port = no integrated DAC = We can know choose which DAC and quality we want! It's really great to use wired headphone! Just read any good review that test jack port and you will see some smartphone with jack port just had really terrible DAC and so, really bad sound output. Even the simple google DAC usb-c dongle is far better than a lot of integrated DAC!

Smartphone apps come with a large database of command codes so they have a much higher chance of working. Also, some smartphones can also learn control codes, so if you have an existing remote, you can copy the commands from it. I haven't heard of a case when the learning function couldn't be used.
