It's Google own Android. What's wrong with that. It's not like users can't download other apps on the play store. Google have every right. EU is wrong. Try on Apple next I want to see how it goes.

I don't agree with this. I mean, google owns android, why cant they use their apps with their own OS? Thats a BS if you have your own OS and you cant use your main apps in priority...

AnonD-558092, 19 Apr 2019I get your point. Though I feel that sometimes we should ig... moreWhat you're talking about isn't a problem with Democracy, it is a problem with every government system.
The way to tackle that problem; ie Making More Good Decisions/Less Bad Decisions, comes down to having greater wisdom and high intelligence. So in order to achieve that, the system must be placed into creating these wise and smart individuals, basically ideal leaders. That means better nutrition, better healthcare, lower stress, mixed environments and circumstances, earlier education, longer education, deeper education, and teaching people to be critical thinking individuals.
That's how you break the cycle. Work today to build a better tomorrow, by bringing up an informed public. It's not by superficial social media, a heavily biased media, broken education system, families with less structure/discipline, corrupt politicians, and lower living standards when it comes to monetary, housing, food and healthcare.
Otherwise, you are always going to get "subpar choices", however it is not because of these reasons that "democracy sucks" it is in spite of it. Since, the democratic process is making it harder for people to be more corrupt and make people more dumb. It was even documented by the Ancient Athenians. Otherwise, a dictatorship would be much easier to enact and it would be much less restricted to pressures against corruption (and liberty and social welfare).

Kangal, 19 Apr 2019Yes, but you're not seeing the big picture.
It was the peo... moreI get your point. Though I feel that sometimes we should ignore democracy when everyone is driving at 300KM/h into a concrete wall. Sometimes (scratch that, OFTEN) people take dumb decisions. They should be able to ask themselves "Do I still wanna do this? Is it really the best thing to do?" before they do it and then think "I shouldn't had done it".
Especially when democracy is mixed with politics where nobody cares for what's best for everyone, and just want to attract a specific type of person by feeding them what they feed on. Democracy, in that context, isn't having everyone agree on something, it's just getting enough to get away with what you want to do. Which isn't good

AnonD-558092, 19 Apr 2019Yeah news about the Gilets Jaunes have started to be muffle... moreYes, but you're not seeing the big picture.
It was the people who wanted Brexit, and the government has to Brexit.
If the people change their mind, that's fine.
However, you have to Brexit first to make sure you uphold the first referendum.
Then you have to have a second referendum to see if people really have "changed their mind".
And thirdly, if they have, then you need to follow the wishes of the second referendum, and re-join the EU.
You cannot say, the people wanted this but they changed their mind, and do what you want.
That basically means people's vote does not count, and it does not work.
So taking people's vote away, means the fabric of democracy is destroyed.
I'm not saying democracy is perfect, or that it always results in the best decision...
...all I'm saying is that they live in a Democratic system, and they need to uphold that. Otherwise it is not democracy, it is something else like aristocracy or oligarchy, or maybe even totalitarianism. Nothing the media or the politicians can say or do, will change the facts/reality, this is a power struggle of the state to take power from the people.

Kangal, 19 Apr 2019Only if you listen to news from TV or website from news out... moreYeah news about the Gilets Jaunes have started to be muffled by medias. Oh and that Notre Dame incident? What a perfect distraction! Yeah it sounds conspiratonistic but it seems logical.
I seriously think that in a democracy, people should be able to change their minds. Especially that they had the time to think properly and fully realize what's going on. They are currently powerless about their country's future. After Theresa May's failure to negotiate anything with the EU and the Parliament, people should be consulted to know what they want to do next. Brexit isn't a game and the stakes are higher than a simple lager. They can't go forward without knowing what people really want to do

AnonD-558092, 19 Apr 2019I believe the situation has changed since the referendum. I... moreOnly if you listen to news from TV or website from news outlets.
There's a lot of anger and protests, and it's being sweeper under the rug by the government. It doesn't matter what the people want now, in a Democracy, you have to Exit the EU. If the people changed their mind, and want to be in the EU, they need to have another referendum second, and thirdly enter the EU if the results are to enter.
It's kind of like the France protests, it's happening and looking from the outside in, I can hardly hear anything about it on TV or news websites.... the French government alongside the media are suppressing the actual events to make matters seem less unfavorable to them. People are actually using technology to show this, by sending messages, taking photos, and documenting videos. If the governments allow the Internet to be monitored and filtered, and the devices to have backdoors then the governments gain the power to suppress technology and silence the people, and crushing liberty and democracy.
I don't know, but it seems our system now allows the corrupt to scale the political ladder, and keeps the rationality/humanity out of reach of democratic power. Something needs to change for the better.
