I have purchased 2 -Z Flip 4 phones both failed within 60 days (line mid screen with dead pixels on 1/2 screen). The repairman recommended by Samsung said they would not repair the phone because the replacement parts were defective and would fail within weeks of the repair...referred me back to Samsung. Samsung got to me for over $1,600 on this phone issue and refuse to stand behind the product they brought to market. I am livid over this and will pursue it as far as possible. Samsung knows it's defective but choose rather than do what's right to push the cost to the consumer to pay for a mistake. This is truly an unfair consumer deception and should not only be fixed, but punished (fined) for the corporate behavior. What a terrible example to set by a huge company...I will never purchase Samsung products again...done! JB

People should be aware before purchasing that there is a magnet in this phone.

It di... moreNo, one reviewer (Joanna Stern) stated that the film started to peel of in the corner over a short period of time. That particular user did NOT peel off the film! Also only 2 reviewers o/t 4 broken did actually peel of the film. The other break-ins had nothing to do with that film at all.

                  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtqtyyGZvXM

Shows some o/t flaws with this device. And as Marques stated on his clip. Those that broke down without the film peeling are the ones to worry about. In this particular case 40 to 50% failure rate is a disaster.

This thing is DOA . Now since the delay. Several videos are out showing just how big a piece of junk this thing is.

Samsung are gonna have to reduce the price of this massively now for anyone to consider buying.

Drocx, 24 Apr 2019OMG why are people so affected with the recall of "REVIEW" ... morebecause 'review' units are the final product sent out to 'reviewers' to make videos to promote the products.

it they were 'test' units then no-one would care.

Drocx, 24 Apr 2019OMG why are people so affected with the recall of "REVIEW" ... moreWell there is a BIG difference in on one hand to show of preproduction units (they are like elaborated prototypes), in controlled environments, and on the other to send out units in retail packaging for reviews to test...

To think that Samsung would deliberately use reviewers as a beta-tester group would be absurd.

It di... moreFactory-installed screen protectors on Sony's mirrorless cameras, as recent as A7II and A7IIR, have delamination problems over time. Did anyone make a big hooha and demand Sony to change the protector for free?

Fayth, 24 Apr 2019and some people may open the Fold from the bottom half, and... moreExactly, the magnets can increase the risk of an uneven open.

Another thing MIGHT be how stiff the three double-hinges are as they do not seem coupled. I do hear some talk about 'flimsy'. So what forces are applied to the display foil when the two halves are 'twisted' relative to each other in say a pocket?
I guess the strong magnets is exactly in an attempt to avoid that, but it might not be enough (just look at how a wallet get twisted over time in a pocket).

So closed they should be very strong and while opening weak... not a simple task to find the ideal compromise.

OMG why are people so affected with the recall of "REVIEW" units. These are not retail units people. The galaxy is not yet officially released. I am always checking reviews on youtube and atleast I only found around 10 - 20 having these units. There is no massive recall so relax people and reserve your rants.

Probably years from now this technology will be a normality and nobody will care who was the first one or how many challenges companies needed to surpass in creating this. Everybody will take it for granted and just move on to the next big thing.
