I don't know why people are mocking samsung, the fold was sent to reviewers like a test unit before market release, some problems apperead, so samsung is recalling the units to look for the issues and resolve them.
And for dumb people who thinks this is the same failure as note 7, you are wrong. First because no risk at life by exploding batteries, and not market released yet.

Lets see how durable will be the mate x then.(With his out folding)

.alpha, 23 Apr 2019You really have to be a fool to believe Samsung's claim the... moreWell not really. BUT the test they have performed is on a special machine, that is their claim holds under ideal conditions only.

That is no twisting or forces applied in 'wrong' directions, and not at too cold temperatures.

Look at it like a real classic thick solid book. If you open and close it evenly and correctly, it can hold a loooong time, but a few bad twists, and it starts to go wrong....

And i'm NOT saying that this is acceptable for a device this price, just that the numbers they come up with is under ideal circumstances.

A phone is a tool for our convenient and it should be done properly. There is nothing wrong that Samsung is taking time for their fold phone though.

Huawei CEO "Ha ha ha ha".

Samsung has another Note 7, bit this time is called Fold.
Useless phone, useless concept, awful tiny outside screen, unfolded screen with a big notch, when folded, both sides can't close 100%.
So, it is a bad product in the first place, but it is also a crappy halfbaked product.

Can wait for the tear down Jerry rig everything.....
                              Buahhhhaahahhahaha.....

id love to know what this recall/delay will cost them.
Not just now but also once the product is released and the warranty repair cost factored in, especially if it lasts a few weeks before dying and this thing has a 2yr warranty

You really have to be a fool to believe Samsung's claim they tested the hinge 200000 times. Seeing how flimsy the hinge is closed and the "screen protector" peeling a few days in the pocket, it is quite clear no actual usage test was done besides the open-&-close machine
