24 April 2019
The focus is on non-memory chips, which have so far been the cash cow.

To me its like i said.

AnonD-731363, 27 Apr 2019Man if you ask 1000 people from 198 countries in the world ... more1-2% of a populace recognizing a brand doesn't make it completely unknown, just "unknown". And by that logic, the Communicators were the first foldable phones. Even in Guinness World Records, it states that the Echo is the "first dual-screen mobile phone"

Saying the Fold is like a Communicator is like saying a smartphone from nowadays is like a Blackberry feature phone - big, bulky and the physical buttons are replaced by a touchscreen

Huawei and Xiaomi don't get a free pass of avoiding mistakes as dumb as what Samsung did, no one does. If you think they'll be successful for learning from Samsung's mistakes, then they'll end up making just as many mistakes because Samsung won't be around anymore by that time. This is just history repeating itself again

                            Rest will dont know.
And Echo was a first foldable concept.
To me Galaxy fold looks exactly like Nokia 9300 Comunicator which is 20 years old device and not interested for me.
For tech geeks company owners and those who dont want to carry laptop all the day with them Galaxy fold should be good.
To me Note series were good enough.
Samsung wont be much succesfull and Xiaomi and Huawei will do a lot better.
Just becaus they have a chance to lear fron Samsung mistakes.

AnonD-731363, 27 Apr 2019Well i did not saw any even when a checked from close range... moreNot appealing buy they're still trees, so you can't just say that there aren't any in it. But I digress

The Echo is a hinge-connected dual screen phone, two screens in one, nothing foldable about it. Not even Flexpai nor Mate X is like the Fold. They're fold-outs, screen on the outside compared to the Fold with the screen inside, any critical thinker can see this. There hasn't been anything like the Fold, so the only thing it can see is failure for now, like any other first-gen tech

Again as I said, I'm not into foldables yet. I don't think foldable displays can become cheap enough to reach even the midrange segment, at least not until OLED displays become more widespread

And what makes Kyocera a completely unknown company? It sold other devices and products that obviously led to its investment for the Echo

And 8 years ago Kryocera made first foldable phone ever with its ECHO as it was called. Since then Galaxy fold was next after 8 years.
If a completely unknown company can make succesfull well working device why a completely known company cant make properly working unit???

The beas... moreWell, we've all got our hopes on certain brands, and this isn't the only thing I'm hyping about. The Galaxy Fold is still a fresh idea, no one can be sure if the design will remain, turn into something else or die off, but you can predict the outcome as much as you want, your freedom. I'm not much into foldables actually, or at least not yet
