They cost billions to create but fail to impress.
Many othher smaller competitors will always make a lot better products than samsung could even imagine.

If it’s a demo unit then yeah it’s crap cause the demo unit comes with 6 gig of ram and demo OS not as the original phone. Agree with you about the lag, but still lot better than before, lags happens due to the Samsung heavy UI, sync apps in background, SD card that effect the overall performance since it’s lower speed than internal storage and apps that eats lot of ram like Facebook and google chrome, I’m wondering why these apps built-in 90% of android phones since causing lags and overheating issue?!

Well even though snapdragon 855 is a faster chip Exonys does not experience lag on S10 plus because its better optimized. Hence, the snapdragon version is more about speed that optimal use. Check it out yourself

When it came to the practical... moreI just searched up a bit; found out from last year's news that they've indeed been working on their own GPUs for a gaming phone. It'd be cool if they could make budget versions of them like Qualcomm. But I really don't get the history regarding why Samsung has been "helping" or whatever is it they've been doing with QC so much that they slowed down their own work. Is there some sort of missing link?

Unlike the Apple A10, A11, and A12 CPUs, which actually have (much) faster single-core performance.
I reckon Samsung can surpass Qualcomm and catch up to Apple, by using a custom design for the single-core benefit and use downclocked A76/A78 and power efficient A55/A58 cores for the regular computing. Not to mention use a Custom GPU (buying ImaginationTechnology PowerVR) to surpass Huawei and catch up to Qualcomm.

Samsung is very rich company. They just don't optimize their phones well. Why S10+ lags when opening and closing app drawer even with 8GB ram? Because of poor optimization. And I don't lie. Checked myself yesterday.

This is very good, now they can develop the Exynos series even more. Would be nice to see in house GPU's as well. Exynos has a lot of potential.

I guess the S10 was rounding up the lose ends where Samsung needed to improve hardware (tweaking a lot of the Exynos issues, having the next generations ufs standards, adding support for 10-bit video, adding a super wide camera, improving the best smartphone display even further etc) and and software (improving the Samsung UI to Samsung One, opening up Camera2API, having HDR10 in both viewing as well as recording, improving dynamic range in the camera, I am guessing the Super Night Mode will be out in a month etc).
Consolidation, sometimes is a lot more important.
Samsung also needs to improve its Isocell sensors a lot more. It has some neat ideas, but it needs to improve them further and it also needs to improve fabrication. Samsung needs to be beat the P20 Pro sensor many times over. If there is one smartphone maker that can truly replicate DSLR quality on a smartphone, its Samsung. Because it had expertise in all hardware and software, that is necessary. It Needs to lead the Smartphone Market with the future of Imaging Sensors, Processing (especially with ISP design, RAM, and processing between various hardware aspects), and Exynos should Aim for beating both Apple and Snapdragon in processing speeds and efficiency. Also HDR in video recording needs improvement.
Many believe the S10 is this years best phone overall. But Samsung can still improve, because it's only competition, is itself. Therefore it needs to aim for 10 years ahead.

Their exynos ... morethere are some weakness in exynos as well as other chips have.its all about balancing the feautures and performances.so i wont call exynos an epic fail, neither snapdragon and kirin.
aside from developing new exynos as we know it is, as per article read, IMO samsung decided to get more serious in developing ai feature in a chip,maybe even some sort of specialized ai chip. and compared to nvidia, samsung has better arsenal to do the job, as they have their own chips(memory,cpu and others),sensor, and even their own fab, to do all that thing so the progress is more coherent and coordinated.
