Oh, yeah? Relatively? Motorola came out with the DROID Turbo back in 2014, nearly 5 years ago with wireless charging and 15 W fast charging. and I am pretty sure there are plenty other devices. No offense but this article not complete.

It'll reduce heat production, plus ensuring your battery charges in the quickest time possible and the charger plus the USB cable can work efficiently...
A phone's battery can rupture or explode though if the user is using it to make or answer a call when it's charging due to the surge in static current when the radio signal is transmitted/received... It rarely happens but had happened and will continue to happen due to idiots like you...

I've seen the hardware. Just put a damn Qi coil in and let people pick. A qi coil is literally probably less than 50c a unit.
I don't personally like a tethered phone. I get that there are people who don't have issues with that or don't mind replacing cables, but it's cheap and easy to add such a feature as qi. I just wish I had the option without having to block off my charging port because someone decided it'd be better for me to use it with a cable.

If a call is received while charging, unplug it first before answering.
Wireless charging is safer than wired charging because you don't need to unplug the charger, just lift the phone and answer. Convenient!

"Wireless" charging means my phone needs to be 1mm from a wired charging pad. Zero freedom. They used to be called phone docking stations before, lower tech but exact same "convenience."
a wired phone with a 2m charging cord means I can move around 4m. Change my sitting position or lie down on the sofa, and my phone is still charging, no problem.

Whenever I want to use it, I don't have to pull the cable for safety, I just need to lift it up. After using, I just need to put it on top of the pad, no need to plug, and that is called convenience.

So, you have your phone on your wireless charger and you feel like you’re living in the future, right? Not really. Wireless charging is not some new, fancy technology. It’s been around for a while and it’s kind of primitive compared to the other stuff found on your phone. It’s a really inefficient way to charge your device, like two people trying to have a conversation by yelling on both sides of a wall. A big chunk of the power used by the charger is wasted, converted into heat instead, slowly deteriorating the health of the battery in the process. And while now there are faster wireless chargers, it’s generally slower than a wired connection, so why even bother with it?
Now, an argument can be made that a wireless charger can be used by all sorts of compatible devices, so you don’t need to look for separate cables. But over the years, manufacturers have actually become pretty good at sticking to a certain type of cable, usually USB Type-C or Lightning. I remember the days when every phone brand used a different plug. Now that’s when wireless charging would have been useful! Today, though, as long as you put a little thought into picking your gadgets, you’re pretty much guaranteed to be able to charge them all with a single cable.
