Counterclockwise: wireless charging came first, but fast wired charging is more popular

29 April 2019
Wireless charging also had the advantage on quickly standardizing on one format while wired charging is fractured. That didn't help, though.

kula shaker, 29 Apr 2019do you agree that fast charging lowers your battery's longevity? This is an interesting point. Sony have intelligent slow charging - it asks to confirm when you need the phone in the morning, and charges to get it to 100% a little before then. The option for normal charging remains. The idea is to make the battery last longer.
I avoid fast charging because of battery worries. I suspect wireless charging is good for the sort of people who go to bed drunk and damage their USB (or Lightning) ports.

Zeke, 29 Apr 2019Lumia 920 comes next to Palm I guess? Come on gsmarena.Loved wireless charging on my 920. Beast of a phone, with a sturdy polycarbonate back. You could hammer nails in with that. Wireless charging is a must for me, makes charging much more kid proof.

I always charge my phone by stick on the charging dock, it is very simple and ease of use. What I care is the battery longevity and endurance. Fast charging is also welcome but must precondition for battery longevity and longer endurance, without this 2 point it is pointless to having quick charge. Remember the battery is sealed in the phone, make sure it is durable and stay safe.

Palm Pre in 2009 or so was one of the first with wireless charging. I still have this phone. You should have mentioned this technology as a pioneer of the industry.

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2019Motorola was first one to bring fast charging in modern era True. I have fond memories of using Motorola Turbo & Turbo 2 back in 2014-2015 respectively. Excellent phones with big batteries & excellent hardware. The "Turbo Charging" on those phones was the best of it's time.

Slow Wireless charging or freaking fast cable?
I go for cable fast charching any day of the year. I can use my phone while I'm charging it and 30min of charging gives me a day of usage instead of 2-3 hours on Wireless. Wireless charging produces more heat and wastes a lot of energy. Heat is not good for the battery and wasting energy is not good for planet.
I have literaly no idea, why are American so in love with Wireless chargin. Maybe because they are Americans.
