In the end of 2017, Japan Display announced sensor to work with LCD and Oled.
But after that I never heard anything more about it...

Shanti Dope, 26 Apr 2019As if there are phones in the future that'll still use LCD panelsi am afraid the answer to you is YES, LCD will still be the screen for most phone except Samsung & some high end phone, LCD will be in the market for some times, probably another decade or more.
