Love the Community, 29 Apr 2019There really is no way they can fit a jack on even the side... moreMan in present we have so many phones without jack nobody would care.
Wireless is future jack is history.

lets hope people don't complain about the lack of a headphone jack because the original Razr didn't have one.

FreddieL, 30 Apr 2019Why the big Thanos chin?!!See link to image posted earlier, the screen will make a rather soft bend (onion-shape), and this makes the hinge mechanism a tad more complex, and they seem to plan to have that next to the display.
It is not just a simple hinge like this https://xkcd.com/1372/

Some nice renderings can be found here
https://www.yankodesign.com/2019/01/30/the-moto-razr-2019-is-the-perfect-fusion-of-futurism-and-nostalgia/
Here they got an animated GIF, and it hints at the onion-fold shape.

even though I think folding phones are just gimmicks to sell expensive phones, this design actually makes some sense, can make the phone thicker but shorter

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2019That look too uglyYou have no taste of design, this phone design is one of the best selling design in history of Mobile Phones. I feel you might be still young to know that. I bet this will sell like hotcake.

Imo best folding design and a wallet cover would be pretty great for this and add an external display which will atleast work as AoD to show notification and date/time

Could not see an external display on these images. I hope it has one.
One should not have to unfold a phone, to see the clock, or what that notification was, or even basic music controls. An outer display on a product like this, in my mind should offer an experience close to that of a smartwatch, except for any ambitions to type text by touch, but not a large one, like many recent clamshell phones, max 2.5 inch, and perhaps a rounded one.

Pam, 29 Apr 2019Those plastic displays give bad feeling and seems too fragi... moreThe phone isnt out yet and you compare it to the sammy fold already? For me carrying a 6" isnt possible, a foldable 6" as big as a 4,5" would be great. Why don't we wait for the final product to rant on it?!

Those plastic displays give bad feeling and seems too fragile. Few days of usage and crack, $1500 to the trash. Unfolded seems a normal phone with a Big chin and low features aside the fold. So less you hyper tiny pockets at your clothes or you buy it for fashion few days. This form factor doesn't have a lot of sense. The battery will be too small too.
Perhaps for old fans that pay for remember old times.

Owned the original razr for a while. Bought it second-hand. The hinges were probably the strongest among the foldable phones I've owned before. Actually, the whole device seemed almost indestructible, given the amount of abuse it took.
I doubt the new one would be this robust, but it's very interesting, nonetheless.
