Whackcar, 29 Apr 2019It will have an OLED panel, so you can hide the notch with ... moreAgree, and combined with the top curving upwards giving some sort of symmetry.
But let us hope they are smart enough to make the ears a user selectable thing.
(If you ask me ANY device with a notch should offer this as an option - let the user choose)
The display rounding at the bottom of the display could look ugly in programs not designed for it, will be interesting to see if they thought up some clever idea here

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2019And yet they had to ruin this otherwise interesting design... moreIt will have an OLED panel, so you can hide the notch with software bezels if you want.
Personally, i don't find the notch very unappealing in this case. It kind of looks like a design element more than anything. Maybe it's the shape of the notch.

Anonymous, 29 Apr 2019And yet they had to ruin this otherwise interesting design... moreIt's not that hideous. How else can they put a receiver and camera on such a form factor? I bet my money that the selfie camera or cameras pack some serious hardware to justify the $1500 pricing.

Personally, I find taking this form factor, which when folded makes for a more pocketable device far more appealing. I don’t need a tablet in my pocket - just a smaller phone.

Just WOW. This will destroy the competition. I hope it's going to be available worldwide, it's going to be a huge hit. Motorola's huge comeback baby!

From what we have seen the 'onion' shaped fold of the screen seems like a far smarter way to handle the bend than what Samsung is attempting.

No sharp bend needed and having the bending part 'freely' floating should also make it less vulnerable to debris getting under it.
(The render angle does its best to hide the side bezels though....)

That looks like the sexiest foldable phone yet. You get security (because it is an "innie"), you get a compact footprint. You get a reasonably large display.
I dig this. This could be Motorola's revolution.

There really is no way they can fit a jack on even the side of the bulge. Just like the popular V3 from before, it doesn't have a headphone jack; As it should be.
Acceptable as it somewhat stayed true to the original. I don't mind the notch as long as it has some powerful camera hardware to make the space useful.
