Google admits smartphone sales declined with the Pixel 3

    because they're too expensive but not enough optimized like iPhones and that's the reason I finally left android after almost 13 years for iOS and I can tell you the experience is just amazing I like my iPhone x and regret all these years spent with android struggling for updates and security. the pixels are so limited and can't extend memory as iOS users do with their iPhones if Google can't fit in smartphones business it's better to walk out and look how ugly the new pixels A are...iPhone the best.

      notch was horrible and overall it was not different enough to the 2xl to make people want to change. They need to innovate to get sales, cant rely on the brand to do so

        REASONS (cold hard truth):
        -FUGLY NOTCH on Pixel 3 XL (2018)
        -NO 3.5mm jack as STANDARD since Pixel 2 Series (2017)
        -NO microsd slot as STANDARD since the start of Google Nexus Series (2010)
        -FORCED GESTURES navigation UI from Pixel 3 Series onwards, with NO OPTION (PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE) to use virtual navigation buttons which are WAY MORE USER-FRIENDLY (2018)
        -OVERPRICED$$ for the lack of ESSENTIALS & FEATURES overall

          -Ugliest phone on this planet
          -Too many hardware issues
          -Too many software issues
          -Midrange phone for the price of an expnesive flagship
          -Poor material used in pixel 3 phones
          -Notch and big as an highway
          -Only slightly camera improvements
          -Poor cheap and low end hardware like only 4GB RAM, trashy microphones, trashy display, etc.
          -Too much tracking and privacy issues and concerns
          -Horrible quality control
          -Only 1 rear camera while all other competitions got 3 or 4 cameras
          -Bad marketing
          -Choosing HTC to produce Pixel3 phones (if HTC could compete on own, wouldn't it end as a dead brand), there's no reason to choose HTC over Huawei, LG, Motorola, Nokia, etc.
          I have enough reasons to not buying Pixel 3 but what honestly google has the BEST customer support and guarantee between all companies, thumbs up for that.

            Maybe the 3xl was to blame their in conjunction with Verizon limitations.. I jumped from HTC older unit to Pixel 3 this year and couldn't be happier. A compact deluxe unit - large screen, intuitive, solid and is a total pleasure to use in so many ways. Dam brilliant.

            If there was any critique it would be to say the camera is a bit too strong as in it can make people artificially look harder / older in the face than they are which is a little off putting / conversely the camera has a lot of major major plusses. The unit is the perfect balance in size and great business companion

                    XL has notch.
                    Both have 64Gb/no sd version
                    Barely available outside USA
                    Phone comes full of bugs again

                      Real reason:
                      1) Shitty design

                      3) Shitty quality control
                      4) Shitty Pie layout
                      5) Shitty Pricing

                        I only got mine for $450. No complaints.

                          To put it simply,

                          What to keep:
                          -Stock Android with more than 2 years of OS updates
                          -front-facing stereo speakers
                          -AMOLED panel
                          -IP rating (might as well go IP68 huh?)
                          -all 3 cameras (dual selfie cam is good)

                          What to change:
                          -no more downclocking the processor. That's just silly laziness when the model prior had a better battery life.
                          -pump up the battery. There are actually thin 4,200 mAH batteries now so you can't screw that up.
                          -add at least Ultra Wide angle cam and either a dedicated telephoto lens or jack up the sensor size of the primary one for even better detail and zoom.
                          -6GB RAM, 128GB ROM STANDARD with an 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM version.
                          -at least offer true dual sim. Maybe allow the E-SIM to work with all carriers as well as whatever drops in the nano SIM tray at the same time.
                          -no more notch.
                          -at least 22W fast wired charging and 15W fast wireless charging (and let it all work out of the box this time...maybe)
                          -SnapDragon X55 for future-proof
                          -Hire Q&A people (I live in Florida but I'd be more than happy to help report bugs with microphones, speakers, and software from home).
                          -XL size should be 6.2"; regular should be 5.2" to be ahead of any compact phone game (to which I'd understand if this one had a 3,400 mAH battery with 2 rear cameras).

                          -and FINALLY, it's gotta be priced right. XL version of this should cost for the standard version $800 with a $100 increase for the max version. I understand them not wanting expendable memory (although if they get the eSIM thing right, a Nano Memory Card reader in that Nano SIM tray would be nice) and with the Type C buds they include in the box, fine, be like HTC. But that would make the price more worth it; supplying great hardware, vanilla software, global bands, and future-proofing the phone. Google does not need to make outstanding profits on their mobile division; they're a multi-BILLION dollar company. This would bring them back in the game like they did with the Pixel 2 XL.

                            Clearly not because there phones are shit , bugs on bugs , looks crap, no headphone jack, shitty screens . The only redeeming quality is the AI photography of it .. big woop

                              Just increase the price ridiculously and change the name then chest thump it is premium, luxury, high-end, flagship....not even iPhones could convince buyers anymore!

                                Because the Pixel series is always half gen slower than others. If Huawei is the masterstroke in marketing strategy and timeline, Google is the total opposite. Let's compare:
                                Huawei annual refresh on September is actually the Mate series. New SoC and specs, updates for other hardware too (except camera which they bring forward from P series half year ago). This is when Snapdragon and Exynos are at least 6 month old. Huawei can at least catch up with Snapdragon here and definitely beat Exynos.

                                Come March the following year, Huawei upped the ante with new and improved the camera specs. The new P series model. With this feature alone, they going to put themselves ahead of other, at least a unique selling point. By now, Samsung and others are busy updating the phone with new SoC. Pixel is already considered as outdated with last gen SoC.

                                Google on the other hand is always playing catch up. New specs and SoC on September (6-mth old SoC!), with dated design (big bezel etc). No matter how good is the software, it still looks dated from outside. For the money, it's not worth it. Single cam, no matter how good it is, cannot produce ultra wide angle photo. And they are very stubborn. Why fight the gravity and flow?

Plus horrible in design, dated, aged, overpriced. And the sales show clearly it. It doesn't matter how you call garbage Xiaomi, Huawei, etc. People are not stupid, you can continue proclaming your lies and dogmas while those brands and others rise and sell 100000 times better than Google and their ugly bricks.

                                  Wait till the 3a an 3a XL, those will be big flop that no one will buy. And the signs are there when you read the news despite the web page. You always watch how much people critic those phones and discard them as an option. And of course as usual with Google insanely overpriced for the hardware, the real garbage ones.

                                        Google, Please don't dare to go global with your so called pricey mid-rangers; just sell them to your staff. You will sell none. in that price range, last year's flagship Oneplus, Xiaomi, Samsung e.t.c got us covered. A plastic phone for $500?!
