Still have no idea why Americans blindly opt for iOS just because it is made by Apple. If they looked more into the features of the phone and the OS too, without a doubt Android's market share would have sky-rocketed.
Anyways, on global scale, iOS can't compete with Android's growth - their only region of profit is America.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2012in real world (not researches) symbian has about 20% HAHAHAHAHAH Which world are you living in there pal? It's certainly not this one, Symbian 20% market share in US? LOL

So you're saying that 1/5th of ALL smart phone users in the US are using Symbian? No.... just No.. If Android has a 45% share and iOS has 30% share that leaves 25% for ALL OTHER SMART PHONES... So there is abolsoutely zero chance Symbian is anywhere near 20% market share, because Blackberry has about 15% lol.

Nice to see that the battle hasn't ended between iOs and Android, and nice to see that Android still has the upper hand :)

These are *US*, not world numbers.

There are more phone users in China than in US. More in Europe than in US. More in India than in US.

                      Who cares about the US.

It's a dead end, bankrupt backwater anyway, with market controlled by telcos.

The only thing it still has is a money printing press and a shrinking army.

                      Good riddance.

Next quarter will be very different as Nokia will floof the US market with great WP devices. I wouldn't be surprised if their marketshare reach double digits soon.

Android is powering thousands of various smartphone models in the globe, but iOS only powers iPhones.

Thus, for iOS to be that close to Android, and it was even much better in terms of number of devices it powers, this makes iOS a leading smartphone OS.

                                      Thumps up for Apple.
