Return it under warranty, get your money back and pay 50% less for whatever the latest foldable will be in a year from now....
Buy yourself something with the money u just saved, while using the latest foldable device that u just got for free.

Marko, 16 May 2019So basically they haven't done anything? I am pretty sure t... moreNothing?
They had to design and produce tools to make new protective layer, they had to make those layers, modify or even make new tools to apply that layer to phone.
Then they had to tweak production lines for modified hinges, make new tools to produce parts and apply them to phone. We talk here about mass produced device its very short time for Samsung to do it. Because we need to take in to the account that we talk here about device that was already manufactured, and it use brand new technology that never hit the market before.

Even single small change in design of any phone that for us is small, need huge amount of work and tools to apply it to mass produced item.

I still think that Galaxy fold look like some 2005 bulky prototype and Huawei Mate X is WAY better looking(slim and nice, even if display is outside) but I appreciate any change in design of any company because I know that it need lots of work and resources to do it in such short time.

it's already old style phone. :))

Let them do whatever they want to with their money. Eventually the know-how will get commoditized, which is a benefit to all.

It's just made because they can, not because they should. ;) only a Samsung fanboy, shill or employee can promote this abomination. Apple said the tablets were going to make laptops go obsolete in the end tablet fad died out because it has no utility. The same thing happens to the folding phones, they have no utility whatsoever.

This is second instance after Note7 , when Samsung hurried up it's product launch just to be ahead of competition.

Though I am not a fan of Samsung, I appreciated the stance of company in tendering it's apology to customers, for Note7 issue. But then I would not expect such things to happen again. It's not good for a corporate to keep apologizing again and again. Customers will loose faith in the company.

What happens is you wait three years. Look at the LG G5 in 2016. Now Samsung and Apple are finally including wide-angle lens. LG got more bashed for the G5 when people easily forgot they introduced that lens which is more practical than Telephoto.

I would say sending units for review saved Samsung from big negative PR issue and a huge loss.

Lab testing may not reflect the run on real life, so I suggest they send the new improved units for review again.
