Asus Zenfone 6 is official: Snapdragon 855, rotating 48MP camera, 5,000mAh battery

16 May 2019
Asus was careful with the compromises it made to build what some will consider a dream phone.

ishreal, 16 May 2019I still don't understand why anyone needs a microsd slot in... moreI can instantly transfer my photos and songs to my new phone by swaping SD card and keep my UFS for apps.

ishreal, 16 May 2019I still don't understand why anyone needs a microsd slot in... moreI don't use sd card for speed. With sd card, I effortlessly migrated all my videos music photo etc to my new phone. And in case your phone broke, you don't have to worry about your data (happened to me).

Also having more option is better than none. Everyone knows that. Especially with 1000 dollar phones out there

ishreal, 16 May 2019I still don't understand why anyone needs a microsd slot in... moreit's all depends on how you use your phone. My parents' phone was 128GB and reached 127GB usage within 6-8 months and they only using phones mostly messaging, that because they have a lot of pictures either from selfie and downloading from messaging services or social media. Not to mention now a lot of mobile games can reached gigabyte size installation even from a single game title, plus lots of pictures, musics, and videos.

smart move, ASUS... might consider this as replacement for my s8. . I can live with lcd panel, and it check every box ..and this is what I call a budget flagship .. My only concern is software optimization ... if asus can make it run as fluid and good as oneplus oxygen os, then it almost become a perfect flagship.

It's because everyone is using amoled why this is all the more amazing

While oled finally gets 90hz and everyone goes crazy hopefully we get some sweet pro igzo IPS LCD screen ls with 120hz in mainstream flagships

Yoedi16, 16 May 2019No amoled isnt that good really except for AOD, under displ... moreyes, you're right. i was a samsung fan for over 5 years and have bought for me and my wife only their s and note lines every year, which are with amoleds. this was until i found about middle of last year that all our samsung flagship phones didn't render whites correctly- it all had greenish tint to it when compared side by side with an lcd screen. then i found this is because the blue subpixels in oleds have shorter lifespan than the green and red, and this is a fact even to current oleds. degradation starts as early as the first year of the device, and advances more rapidly when you use aod. i have since switched over from note 8 to razer phone 1 and the pocophone f1, then about 2 months ago to the razer phone 2. i still am planning to go back to samsung when the note 10 comes out, but simply because i do alot of sketching on the go (for a hobby), and most likely use it as a secondary phone. i am more excited about pocophone f2 and it will definitely be my primary device since i think razer will not have a sequel to the phone 2. having said that, i am really not going back to using oled screens until this issue with the blue subpixel is resolved.

Another flip camera? That's quite stylish, just like the Oppo N1 and not as ugly as the Galaxy A70. Selfies will be great. No notch too.

No OLED?? WWWHHHYYY ASUS, literally all the flagships (except for Mate 20 and View 20) have an OLED display. Even the upcoming Redmi / POCO flagship might come with OLED. You just can't get any better than infinite contrast ratio and true blacks.

Oh well, at least it's got a humongous battery. Welcome to the 5000mAh squad. If the dual speakers are really good then I guess that can compensate for the absence of OLED.

Yoedi16, 16 May 2019No amoled isnt that good really except for AOD, under displ... moreDepends i guess. I have Nokia 808 (among other phones) with AMOLED screen from 2012. Actively using it as no phone camera can capture more detail than 808 (Panasonic Lumix CM1 and Lumia 1020 came close) until nowadays (and i really love Symbian Belle). No burn-ins or any other damage on screen. Protective glass needs replacement soon but that's that.

Anonymous, 16 May 2019And you forget no amoled screen Truly flagship killerNo amoled isnt that good really except for AOD, under display fingerprint but i prefer ips for its longevity
